Of course he takes her up on her offer.

Pulling into traffic, he checked his phone. They were twenty minutes away.

"Okay, sure." He thought for a moment. "Do you like sports?"

She nodded. "Yep. I played soccer and volleyball. I was on varsity in both. Okay, um...what's your favorite genre of book?"

He thought for a moment. "Um...fantasy, usually. Alternate reality, stuff like that."

"Hm. Cool."

"Alright. Uh...were you popular in school?"

She shrugged. "I was on varsity soccer and volleyball. Of course, I guess. I mean, it's not important that I was but...yeah. I guess I was pretty popular."

"Oh, nice. I don't think we would have gotten along."

She laughed. "You weren't popular? Did you not..." she gestured to his body, "did you not play any sports?"

He took that as a compliment. "It's not about that. It's more that I actively avoided being popular. Sure I played, but I made sure to stay humble and stuff."

"You can be humble and still be popular."

"Yeah, but it goes to your head. It happened to my friends, so I promised I'd try my hardest to stay out of it all."

She shrugged. "That's reasonable. Also -- is this traffic ever going to move?"

Uh oh.

A traffic jam began. A wreck a mile ahead set back everyone. Not only that -- Tyler saw a speck of snow fall to the ground the winter storm was about to blow in a few hours from now, from what he remembered Kaitlyn telling him.

"No idea. Let's not worry. At least, you know, we can finish the game. Is it my turn?"

"Nope. Mine. So, uh...did you date a lot?"

A peculiar question. "Well...a little, yeah." He paused. "Um, a lot."

"Like..." She looked away. "Like, you know. Frequent...dating?"

He cleared his head a little. "Hey! Two questions. It's my turn."

She sighed. "Fine."

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

Oh fuck. What was he doing?

Another mood change. "Nope. Single as can be."

"Cool." He said. 'Fuck, wait, what did I say? Am I fucking dumb?' He thought.

She laughed a little. "Cool? It's cool that I'm single?"

He was sweating now. "No, I mean, like, it's cool that you're doing your own thing and stuff."

"Good save. Keep in mind I'm your girlfriend's little sister, eh?"

"Yep. I didn't mean it, you know, like that-"

She laughed more. "I'm busting your balls, dude. I know what you meant. Anyways -- my turn."

He looked outside as the snow picked up only a little. It was flurrying.

"My sister...you love her a lot?"

"Of course." He said without hesitation. "I thought this was about me, though?"

She shrugged. "I mean you asked if I was single, so I just wanted to see how much you loved my sister."

'I...what?' He thought. "Well, I do. And you pretty much asked if I slept around a lot in school."

She got a bit flustered as she turned to him. "Well I'm just curious!" She said defensively. "I mean you said you weren't popular or at least tried not to be so I mean...I just wanted to know if that also meant you were a virgin or something!"

He laughed. "I've been dating Kaitlyn for three years."

"So you guys...I mean...so have you..."

"Are you asking if we've...had sex?"

"Well have you?"

"It's my turn for a question."

She blushed.

He realized something...not so friendly was going on. He could feel it in the air--something...peculiar.

He needed to make a choice here. Should he push it?
