"Did You Get My Clothes ?"

Debbi stood before the elevator doors prevaricating. She was naked, clutching the flash card and paperwork to be returned to Carol, as well as the highly embarrassing photo misprint that she was going to do goodness knows what with ! She was prevaricating because she could not decide whether to use the lift or the stairs. She could hear the elevator approaching up the shaft and at the last minute made a dash for the stairs. She could not face being stuck in the confines of the lift again with whoever might be in there. Nobody ever used the stairs.

At least normally they did not. But this afternoon, while between floors, Debbi was suddenly confronted by two hefty labourers lugging a heavy steel filing cabinet. They almost dropped the cabinet on seeing Debbi standing there, naked and cowering. "Blimey, where's yer clothes luv ?" "I've just had my medical" she replied hopelessly. "Ain't that normally in a doctor's office ?" one of the men laughed. "It was a last minute arrangement that Carol made." "And a very good arrangement she made too ! But back up for us darling, we can't go up carrying this sodding thing." "Oh, er, no, of course, sorry" said Debbi stepping down to the landing below. The men edged by her in the cramped space. Debbi dropped the photo of herself spreading her cheeks and one of the men scooped it up with his free hand. "Cor, is that you darling ?" "I've been to printing, it's a misprint." "We've got to go past printing, we'll have to see if Derrick's got any other misprints !" the men laughed as they carried on down the stairs, keeping hold of this particular misprint !

Debbi made it back to her own floor without encountering anyone else. The embarrassment she felt back there was ever so slightly mitigated by the fact that at least the staff here knew what had been going on. Carol was by now back at her desk outside Debbi's office. Debbi handed her the flash card and the paperwork. Carol grinned maliciously. "Ah, business process requirement 2155.c, excellent ! Thanks. But where are the prints ?" she asked. "They said they'd send them up. It was taking so long. They had to run three copies of each and there were so many of them" Debbi answered. Carol grinned again. "Yes, it was close on two hundred in the end I think. We had to be on the safe side that we'd have all we needed for the insurance."

"Did you get my clothes ?" Debbi asked. Carol faked shock and innocence. "Oh no ! I got side tracked and then forgot." "Carol !" Debbi protested. "No problem, you can go and get them now" Carol suggested. "Like this ?" Debbi posed sarcastically. "Well, I do have your shoes" Carol laughed, offering these to Debbi who put them on with a scowl. "I know" said Carol. "Wait there." A few minutes later, she returned carrying a bin bag. "I got it from the cleaners" she said, pleased with herself. "I can't wear a bin bag" Debbi yelped. "I've cut holes for your arms and head, it's only to go across the road. Here's the claim card, I can be busy collating the prints in the meantime" Carol asserted !
