Gone Fishin'

"You know what would be a ton of fun to do because I haven't done it for awhile?" Zack crunches down on his piece of toast, "You have a boat or a canoe here, yeah?" he asks Heather and Kurt.

"Yup, have a canoe." Heather replies, "Whatcha thinking about?"

"Fishing!" Zack smiles as she chews down the toast, "I wanna go fishing!"

"That sounds fun!" Heather immediately replies.

"Uhh," Ashley questions, "You do know what fishing is, right Heather?" curious why her cheerleading, business oriented, high class girlfriend would want to go fishing.

"I'm not an idiot Ashley! This is my family's cabin, I've gone fishing tons of times before with my dad when we'd visit here at kids. Just because I'm such a badass chick doesn't mean I don't like getting my hands dirty sometimes."

Zack was actually caught off guard with that as he assumed maybe Brandon and Chloe would come and was secretly hoping Victoria would want to come so when Heather immediately wanted to go he was pleasantly surprised. "Well, I'm sure we could fit whoever wants to go into the canoe and go out for the day? There's gotta be some cool sights on the lake to see as well."

"I'd like to do that!" Chloe beams a smile at Zack, "Just like when we were kids and would walk to the bridge over the river and dangle the fishing rods into the river below, good memories!"

"Well, I dunno if I feel like going fishing..." Ashley mumbles out, "Fish are gross and slimy and then if we have worms you gotta hook them, bleh."

"Lures, we'll just use lures. I don't care to run into town to grab worms. Unless you boys want to go dig around in the dirt out back?" Heather teases.

"Yeaaaa..." Zack drones on, "About that..."

"There's a little park on the opposite side of the lake." Kurt remembers the small boyscout's campsite that had a playground, some tables and nice hiking trails all around. "Remember that, Heather? We could always borrow a canoe from the neighbors, all eight of us could go and the ones who want to fish could, the others could have fun at the park or go explore."

"Yeah, we could all go over to the park, canoe over there, tie them up to the docks and go fishing around the that side of the lake. It's less populated over there, more shallow weedy spots so better for fishing." Heather informs, "My dad would always head out that way before the sun even came up."

"What if!" Vicky starts, "Oh my god!!! A picnic!" Victoria blurts out, "We can have a picnic at the park! For those of us who don't care to fish!"

"Now that's something I can get behind!" Ashley replies immediately, "Screw fishing, but count me in on sandwiches and drinking wine in the middle of the day!"

"Gavin? Brandon? You guys game?!" Zack asks. "Would be awesome to get the whole group over there, leave no man or woman behind!" he grins.

"Well, Brandon has to clean up the fucking bedroom first!" Heather retorts immediately, "But we can pack up and get our clothes, get some lunches, get the wine..." Heather winks at her friends.

"Uhh, yeah that's fine." Gavin shrugs, he doesn't really care to go fishing but he also isn't going to sit around in the cabin by himself especially if everybody else is going to go out. Plus, going in a canoe means Ashley should most likely be in a bikini again which means how could he say no.

Brandon finally pulls his head up from the table, groaning out, "Yeah whatever..." his voice sounds so weak and rasp, "I'll go check out this room, it can't be that bad..." he grumbles out as he pushes his hands down on the table, lifting himself up as he then stumbles down the hallway towards the master bedroom.

"Not that bad..." Kurt laughs out loud, "I gotta see this, gotta see his face when he checks out the room!" he jumps up from his chair and follows the boy.

"Okay!" Heather nods, "It's settled, after breakfast we'll change our clothes, pack up some food for a picnic, get all the gear we need and then get the canoe's ready! I'll make a call to my dad, he'll contact our neighbor just to make sure it's okay if we use their canoe. I know they most likely won't care but I'd feel better to let them know in case they show up."

"Wine!" Ashley replies, looking at Vicky, "We're bringing lots and lots and lots of wine!"

"Oh yes we are!" her friend replies giddily. "Ashley and I are on packing the food and drinks!" the blonde tells everybody, "Sandwiches, snacks and wine!"

"Alright, can't wait, should be a lot of fun!" Zack smiles out, happy that the entire gang is going to go with his idea. Whoever wants to fish can and the others will hang out in the park and eventually all eight of them can sit down at the park and enjoy a picnic together.
