She runs the tip of her tongue round her lips, cleaning them of your blood and fluids, and swallows. Her other eyebrow rises to match the first. "If you're sure, then. Between terms is my time to renew the doses of our essential medicaments. Now that you've called me away from my work, you would be well to ask me anything else you should need. I would be less than pleased if you should see fit to interrupt me again." She sighs. "But it rather seems that Sapienta has done you a good turn despite the pain and swelling."

"Yes, Miss Wormwood," you say.

"Ah, child," she says. "I had hoped you would do well by each other. She looks healthy. And I can taste it in her venom. You're feeding her and bathing her."

"Yes, Miss Wormwood."

"May you live long and prosper together," Miss Wormwood says.
