Apart from the obvious advantage of allowing him to fuck women in return for gold, working as a male prostitute would also ease his search for Thyra.
For if the girl was alive and in Gordor, chances were that she had sought out a similar profession. Content with his choice, Hauk left the harbour in favour of the inner parts of Gordor.

As he moved through the streets, Hauk was greatly helped by the fact that few would hesitate to offer directions to a towering barbarian asking them about the way to the Pleasure district.
Therefore, Hauk had no problems in making his way to the parts of the city that he was looking for.

The Pleasure district was located roughly north of the harbour, with the richer parts of town placed further to the north and the markets directly west of it.
Dominated by its vibrant street life, this section of Gordor consisted of one entertainment establishment after the other; brothels, bars and strip-joints.
Further, it didn’t look as if the buildings were placed in any sort of thought-out manner; the finest-looking of whore houses lying right next to a seedy tavern.

Hauk had to admit that he was at a loss as to where he should go first, knowing at least that he would be able to gather in a good deal of gold if he picked the right place.

Glancing up and down the street in which he had stopped; Hauk looked for people whom could offer him advice.
He was hoping to find a woman whom he could put his inquiries to; as he believed that he would get the most honest answers by someone whom he had fucked hard and good before questioning. After all, if he showed the woman a proper good time, she would be inclined to give him good directions, wanting to be able to find him in the future.

Of course, the woman needed to be wealthy, so that it would be a first-class brothel that she showed him to. That, or perhaps one of the working girls, a couple of them standing on almost every corner, could help him.
