The Bravos arrive safely and set up camp

By the time their airship-on-land finally arrived at the site of the labyrinth, the day had long since turned to evening and night. The broad, open expanse of the Frozen Lands stretched out in every direction, and endless field of tundra which held them in its frozen embrace. The sound of the wind and the occasional howling of wolves in the far distance were the only company as the group piled out of their vehicle and began to unload their supplies.

Robin and Skye had stopped singing around the time the temperature fell below a comfortable range, leaving the final few days of the journey in relative quiet. The road along the way was largely unmarked and while they did spot occasional buildings in the distance, there was nothing that really resembled an actual city particularly much and many of the small towns were occupied by the looming forms of Minotaurs or other beastmen.

"Looks like this is it," Fuu said as she dropped her pack to the ground. The entrance to the labyrinth was exactly how it had been described to them, a massive lump of stone reaching up out of the ground, shaped into the horrible visage of a humanoid maw. It stuck out of the ground like a natural part of the land--just another boulder-- but that was the only natural thing about it. The uncanny similarity to a human figure was only the beginning of the strangeness, the cracks in the stone almost seemed to emulate blood vessels, and the black pits of its eye sockets seemed to be staring back at them, empty and hungering. A lesser woman would have been shaking in her boots, but Fuu and the rest of the Bravos had dealt with more than their share of evil.

"Aye," Kiera came to stand behind her, glaring up at the entrance as well. Fuu tried not to let herself get distracted as the writhing mass of black ichor that made up Kiera's arm continued its constant, eerie shifting"It's been some time since I've seen this bastard's face. But I'll know him even after the rest of my mind is long addled."

"Best think this through." Kiera continued speaking as she moved back to their transport and began hauling out bags of supplies, tents, and the like. "We set up camp here, and take our time. Unless you all want to get killed... or worse."

The rest of the Bravos waited for Fuu's nodded approval before they joined in with unpacking the bags. It wasn't exactly the most pleasant place to set up camp, right beneath the horrid eye of the entrance's maw, but it was out of the way of the main road, hidden behind hills, and Fuu was just starting to notice how strangely warm it was here compared to the rest of the journey.

"Bekkrholm's not too far" Kiera noted as she finished setting up her fur lined tent. "They still have shops and the like, I'd imagine."

With that, Kiera moved back into her tent, leaving the rest of the group to finish setting up the rest of the camp between them.

The hungering face of their destination loomed over them, black eyes staring down wordlessly. The somber mood was a stark contrast against Robin's earlier jovial attitude, and although each one of them was confident in her skills, there was a prevailing fear that this unknown threat might be more than they could handle.
