Introduce yourself!

‘Yeah, I’m Emma’s date,’ you settle on. ‘Nice to meet you. I’m James.’

‘Emma.’ She smiles and looks sideways at you. ‘Well, you know, the other Emma. You haven’t seen him, then?’

‘Not for a while,’ you tell her, gloomily. ‘Looks like we both got stood up.’

Emma Stone looks confused for a second, then her eyes narrow. ‘Wait, hold on. You’re gonna have to explain that one.’

‘Your date’s gone off with my date,’ you say, gesturing at the staircase. ‘Ergo, we both got stood up.’

Emma stares at you, dismayed. ‘Well, shit,’ she says, scratching her head, and squinting up the marble stairs. ‘Seriously? I had a feeling this one was too good to be true.’

‘Right back at you,’ you offer sadly. Emma turns back, seeming to shake herself.

‘Well, good thing we found each other, I guess. Are you new in town?’ She offers you a crooked smile that’s very different to Emma Watson’s, but is just as infectious. ‘Haven’t seen you around that I remember.’
