The feeling of a warm body pressed against him as he woke up was something that John would very much enjoy every day from now on. The weight on top of his body, wrapping itself around him, was also extremely comfortable. So much so that he didn’t want to move or even consider standing up.

A certain dragon had other ideas though…

Thorn jumped onto John with a single, mighty leap from the floor, landing directly on his chest. Wheezing for air, John started to cough violently by the sudden ‘attack’. Next, he was assaulted by a wet tongue on his face, licking him with a lot of enthusiasm.

“Aaargh, get off me, you goof!” growled John, pushing Thorn’s face away from his own. As he touched the wolf dragon’s face, he noticed that something was different.

Opening his eyes, John immediately knew what was ‘wrong’. The Thorn on his chest was bigger again; where yesterday the dragon was slightly bigger than Gary (so a bit bigger than a small dog), he was now about the size of a big lab or a similar dog, probably going up to John’s thighs by now. His facial details were also growing sharper, more feral than the puppy-ish look that he had before. He still had the same goofy glint in his eyes though, and the lolling tongue made him still look adorable.

All the ruckus in the bed had now also awakened Kaen, who was snuggling harder into John, trying to slip back into sleep, or at least keep him in bed.

“Mhhhh, so comfy~” She sighed in content as she rubbed her face against his chest.

Smiling, he took one of his hands and started to softly pet her hair while still dealing with the fact that Thorn had grown.

Now he had to find out why…

In the last two days, Thorn had grown four levels since he had been with John. That’s crazy, at that rate Thorn would soon be stronger than him… at least in theory.

Happily tapping his paws on John’s chest, the wolf pushed his muzzle into John’s face and then looked out to the door leading to the garden. Did he want to go out? That was probably the reasonable assessment here.

He carefully tried to slip out of the bed (even if he didn’t want to) but Kaen strengthened her vice grip on him. “Nuuuu~ don’t go, stay in the warm bed…” She was still half asleep as her grip soon lessened and her head dropped down on the pillow beneath her. Chuckling softly, John let himself be dragged out to the garden by Thorn.

The sky was just as clear and blue as it ever was, and the air was silent aside from the occasional humming of a drone flying around, cleaning up something. Looking at the garden, John’s eyes fell on the fruit tree to the side.

If the number of people frequenting the Nexus was rising as much as John was expecting it to, then maybe he should add some more ways to gather food. One fruit tree was fine and all, but it was enough to only feed him…

Trying to look at his construction menu, he was first met by the daily routine of patches and new quests.

Mana Charge: Charging your attacks with Mana Charge now takes time. The time will be equal to the amount of mana in seconds, so charging an attack for 2 mana takes 2 seconds.
Also, each separate strike now needs to be charged.
Gamer’s Body: With reaching Level 10, new restrictions/functions have been implemented into Gamer’s Body. You will now experience thirst, hunger, and tiredness. These effects will take hold in the form of status effect affecting your regeneration and stats. Also, your items will now be subject to degradation. They can be repaired, but necessary materials are dependant on the item.
Gamer’s Spirit: To balance the changes to Gamer’s Body, you will now permanently gain 50% more EXP. Additionally, your item drop chances are increased by 10%.

Base drop rates are affected by difficulty, number of loot drops of an enemy, Gamer’s Luck, item types, and other modifiers.

That… wasn’t too bad… sure, the increased maintenance of his body would likely be a bit annoying, but the increased loot and experience wholeheartedly made up for that. And the Mana Charge thing was annoying, but it wasn’t the worst.

He had sex with Kaen without speaking to Astrid about it… It was the one thing that he had promised her, that he would tell her before he would have sex with anyone not in the ‘harem’...

Hopefully, she would understand…

Intending to send her a message about it, apologizing, he saw that he had a message from Brun.

Brun [07:15]: Morning, Mr. Buster Nutte :P. Hope you had a nice evening with that little dragon. By the way, I told Astrid what you’d be doing since you’re probably way too deep inside some pussy right now to think about anything else. You can thank me for it tonight by giving me some proper lovin’. I’ve also already warned her about the club, so don’t worry about anything there. Just… don’t go overboard, okay? I don’t want to walk around with a man-whore fucking everything with tits… Anyway, I’ll expect you to be around at 6 PM at our place.

Oh man, Brun was the best wingman there ever was… Not only was she on top with helping John out, but she was also a fuckable wingman! And he was going to fuck her so hard tonight... Question was, would he do it before or after they went to the club? He’d decide that one on the fly.

With that concern out of his mind, for now, John went back to his original plan to see what kind of food production he could find.

Huh, so the tree was the only thing he could create to make food? That was kind of disappointing…

’Master, there is a construct you can create that will make it possible to have more options for construction,’ Sarai made herself known in his head, seemingly listening in on his thoughts.

’Really? What is it?’

Another popup of the construction menu appeared before him:

Construction Evolver, 2250 MP, 20 MP/h while active: Create a submodule for the Nexus core system that will enable the system to automatically create new construction blueprints for you to use. The process will take longer for differing categories.

Could he create these blueprints himself as well?

’You could, Master, but for that, you would need to know the exact compositions of everything inside the constructs.’

That sounded like a lot of knowledge that he didn’t have… but that construction cost was also pretty hefty... that was almost everything of the mana that he had accumulated over the last two days… Then again, most of that he had gotten while he had been asleep in here if he remembered correctly, so it wasn’t like he wouldn’t be able to get to this amount again…

Deciding that he wanted more variety in his construction as quickly as possible, he created the Construction Evolver.

Apparently, he didn’t have a choice where that thing was placed since nothing prompted him to do so; however, he did get a new kind of pop up.

So… If John understood this correctly, then this was basically a research tree that would give him new construction options.

Well, why not add a strategy game to his life as well! He would like it if he could actually select what was researched specifically, but he was pretty damn sure that he wouldn’t be able to afford that upgrade right now.

Seeing as how his thought was to create more food sources just a moment ago, he decided to go with the Agricultural category.

Additionally, he also decided to create a second Tree of Cornucopia to create some more fruits. He planted the second tree not too far from the first one.

When prompted which fruits to get, he immediately picked another True Dragon Fruit, but he kept the rest random to see what kind of fruits he could get. That dragon fruit was simply too good of a nutrition source for Thorn, and maybe Kaen would benefit from it as well.

The tree grew to a shrub just as quickly as the last time, and another 5 fruits were hanging on the tree. Another Dragon Fruit was hanging on there, this time white; a blood red fruit shaped like a heart; another blood red fruit but just in a small, round shape, like a cherry; a coconut and a fruit that was extremely thin but was hanging from the tree like a towel.

John decided to look at all the new fruits.

Bloodfruit
A fruit filled with the essence of nature, granting you increased life essence.
Fully consuming this fruit will grant 2 permanent HP. Effects can be stacked [Level] times.

Bangerfruit (young)
A volatile fruit from the realm of the Goblins. This fruit acts like a grenade when the stem is removed and thrown.

Loco-Nut
A genetic mutation of the common coconut, filled with ****. Drink its liquid to get the status ‘Wasted’ for 3 hours. The flesh is just a normal coconut.

Flumpt
A genetic mutation of a citrus fruit, this fruit is the size of a moderately sized sheet of fabric. Can be used as a substitute for leather in Crafting.

Those… Sure were fruits… The Bloodfruit was pretty neat, and the Bangerfruit was kind of interesting, but John was not sure if he wanted to grow actual bombs from a tree. The Loco-Nut was… quirky, it would probably be somewhat interesting should he ever get a stash of them, but the Flumpt was just… extremely weird… who would ever modify a fruit to basically be a sheet of leather? It didn’t even seem to be nutritious since it didn’t have the same ’Eat x fruits to gain the status ‘Well-Fed’. Granted, neither did most of the magical fruits, but those at least had some other usage…

Eating the Bloodfruit, John looked over to the older, more mature fruit tree. Some of the fruits in there were already growing multiple times, there were two apples by now.

Something was weird though… One of the fruits, the Peach of Immortality, was missing… It didn’t hang in the tree, it wasn’t lying on the floor, as if someone had eaten or discarded it. Looking at Thorn, he thought about if he could’ve been the culprit but came to the conclusion that he probably couldn’t have reached that fruit. Yet. He’d have to keep an eye on that, if it kept happening…

Eating the Star Drop and one of the apples, he handed Thorn the new True Dragon Fruit, who happily munched down on it, clearly enjoying the taste. The other Dragon Fruit John kept for Kaen, it might be something she didn’t get to taste yet. Collecting all the fruits with a basket that a drone had brought him, he went back into the mansion

As John entered the room, he saw a slowly rising Kaen in the bed, a heavy knocking on the door to Andrea’s cell, and a skitterish Gary running around on the ceiling of the room. As John entered, Gary ‘pounced’ on his head, resting there and making himself comfortable.

Chuckling to himself, John went over to Kaen, who slowly noticed that he was approaching the bed. Still clad in only her underwear, she stretched herself on the bed, sighing comfortably. Once he reached the bed, he leaned down to give her a soft kiss, which she happily raised her head for.

“Mhhh~ I could get used to waking up like this…” she happily mumbled.

“Same. You hungry?” answered John.

Her nod was enough of an answer for him to hand her the fruit. “Here, that’s a fruit specifically for dragons. It should hopefully give you everything to get started. I’ll take a look at what our lovely ‘prisoner’ wants. Do you need anything?”

Kaen nodded at that, “A bathroom would be nice.”

‘I have created a bathroom while you were asleep in the room closest to the garden door. I’ve also taken the liberty to create a kitchen next to it to the best of my abilities.’

Well, that was something John had planned to create today anyway; he was happy that Sarai had taken care of that for him, or at least as much as she could… He would have to check that.

Sarai’s melodious voice rang in both of their heads. Kaen jumped in the bed at the sudden intrusion of her head. “Wow… that’s weird… Is that what it’s like when we would talk in our minds?”

John nodded his head, “Pretty much, though I am surprised that you can hear her… So far everyone I’ve bonded with only ever could communicate with me, not each other… Might be an effect of the Nexus… Anyway, a bathroom has obviously been supplied for you. I’ll take my turn after you.”

Kaen playfully pouted at that, “No sexy shower sex?”

That was a tempting thought, one that John very much appreciated right now, but his rational head prevailed. “If you take long enough, maybe I’ll join you, but first I should see what Andrea wants.”

“Have fun with that!” Kaen said, picking up her clothes and rushing into the bathroom. John meanwhile went up to the room holding the redhead and created a hole in the door to talk to her and to hand her some of the fruits.

As he opened the hole on face level, he was met with the angry scowl of the Irish nun, “Took yer fucking time to see to me! Do you have something to eat for me or do you want me to starve?”

Handing her the other apple, she looked at it in a kind of disgust. John looked at her, slightly irritated, “What? Not to your liking? Don’t nuns usually fast?”

Andrea looked like she was about to slam John’s head into the door, “That may be true for the Catholic cunts, but not for us! We need our food to keep our energy, you bloody numbskull. And no, a fucking apple is not enough! I need some real breakfast, preferably a full English.”

Rubbing the bridge of his nose, John thought about it for a second, “Tell you what, I’ll be out shopping soon, I think, need to stock up some stuff in here, so I’ll get you some more to eat, but you won’t complain about it, and we’ll eat together; I’ll maybe even let you out of the cell for that. Deal?”

Begrudgingly nodding, she accepted that deal, “Aye, I’ll take your fucking American breakfast if I have to. I’m proper famished…”

John smiled at that, relieved that she didn’t put up much of a fight, “Good! And I hope you had a relatively pleasant night?”

Andrea nodded, “Aye, this bed is bloody amazing, probably never slept better.”

“Glad to hear that. Well, I’ll leave you to it, for now; I’ll be back soon with your ‘second breakfast’.”

The redhead huffed at that, “You better! And maybe get rid of that silly hat!”

Looking up, Gary was still sitting on his head, now softly tapping John’s head with his legs.

“Uuuuh… yeah, maybe the hat is a bit… silly.” As John picked Gary up and planted him on the ground, the spider clung near to John’s leg.

By now Thorn was running into the room, already sprinting into his direction, probably to tackle him again.

This was surely the most turbulent morning he ever had.
