Waiting To Wake

"Oh, come on, come on..." you groan out as you bring your head down into your hands and stare at the floor.

"Oh Darien, it's only been about an hour, calm down." Zoe punches your arm causing your body to sway back and forth. "I'm sure there will be good news soon enough! I know it! If anybody can help Lexie, it'll be Queen Bree!" she pauses, thinking just briefly "Well, hopefully anyway. I mean, I guess we don't really know her or how good she really is...I mean, what if she can't do anything?" she shrugs.

"Zoe...that's not helping."

"Well? What if she's back there right now, with Edmin and they are just laughing at us! Oh my goodness, what if that's what's happening!"

"Why would you even," you grumble out as you lean backwards in the chair and slump down in it "Oh for Syndicate sake..."

"Lighten up Darien!" she slugs your arm again "I'm just teasing, I'm sure she'll be just fine!"

You stay seated in your chair, zoning out while you try to keep your mind focused on other things. You don't really know how long you sat there for, it may have only been another ten minutes but eventually Zoe slugs your arm again awaking you from your trance. "What?" you groan at the Sunrider while looking up at her. You see Zoe pointing ahead of you so you look at that direction and see Queen Bree with a half smile looking at you two.

"Bree!" you shoot up to your feet "What did you find out?!" you shimmy in your step as too much blood rushed to your head all too quickly "Uhh, think she'll be okay?"

"Follow me in," she waves the two of you into the tiny room that Lexie was in.

Stepping inside, it's almost like one of the rooms back at the Sicilian Sunrider Villa. It's small, has a single bed, a table, full of lots of different vials and glass containers which hold brightly colored liquids. There are two chairs around that table and a small wardrobe which most likely holds a change of cloths or just random supplies for this room. You notice Lexie still on her back, in her leather trousers and just a cloth wrap over your breasts, her arms at her sides sleeping soundly on the bed. It appears there is some type of lotion or something on her stomach as it reflects the little bit of light softly.

"So..." Bree carries on "I'll need to see her when she's awake to be able to actually talk with her and see how she's feeling. But, from what the two of you described to me it sounds like it could be some type of pregnancy issue." her face is emotionless "Generally if it was poison it wouldn't be focused in just one area of the body, but more so all over." she informs the two of you "I did what I could, worked up some herbal tea to give her and I mixed together an ointment which I applied to her stomach. The body will absorb that and hopefully should help with any issues, but until I look at her when she's awake and can actually talk with her then I could only give my best guess at what the issues were."

"So you think there is an issue with her pregnancy?" you question "What about the kid?"

"I can't tell you that, Darien. I'll know more when she wakes up." she nods at you "But, there are many normal bodily issues which could result in pain of the abdomen during pregnancy, so truth be told, it could just be something natural and normal which she may just easily pass through herself."

"O-Okay..." you reply "Is there anything I can do?"

"This potion you've been giving her, to alleviate pain and help her sleep, how long ago did you give one to her?" she questions

"Right before we got to Rathkin, so, an hour or two ago?" you look at Zoe who nods up and down to agree with your statement.

"So it'll still be a few hours I'd imagine before she'll wake up..." Bree ponders as she walks over to the table and sorts through some vials that are sitting there "I'll tell you what, when she wakes up, I'll know more, but until then, honestly it's just the waiting game."

"Well..." you walk over to the bed and look upon Lexie's laid out body "I guess that's good..." you smile at your sleeping Sunrider before turning up to look at Queen Bree "Thank you. I mean, for trying, it means a lot." you give her a smile.

"You're welcome." she gives a friendly nod "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm famished and would like to grab a bite to eat, care to join me?" you notice her eyes look over your body once over before she turns to Zoe.

"I'm good!" Zoe smiles "Darien, go! I'll stay here with Lexie! It'll be good for you, stop worrying about her, go stuff your face!" she almost playfully skips around the room "Plus you can't leave a Queen to eat all alone, she's done so much for us, keep her company!"

It's at that point you do notice your stomach is growling and you could use something else to eat besides the gruel, bread and water you've had for the past couple days "You sure?" you question Zoe.

"Yes!" she jumps behind you and places both her hands on your shoulder blades "Go go go!!" she pushes you towards Queen Bree "If Lexie wakes up I'll come find you guys immediately! Don't go too far though!" she smiles. "Oh and Queen Bree, keep the **** away from this one! He gets wild when he drinks!" she jests.

"A side of Darien I'd like to see someday..." her eyes connect with yours as she gives a flirty smile "Will you keep me company? I'd love that..."
