After some back-and-forth with the tiny glowing mote who serves as Miss Hemstitch's receptionist, you arrange for an appointment. You wait on a wooden bench, gleaming with beeswax polish and smelling faintly of honey. Two students in Beavertail brown and gold leave Miss Hemstitch's office. One of them is crying and the other seems to be consoling. They have their hoods up, so you wouldn't recognize them or know if they were even witch or wizard.

You feel the tug of a magical summons and in the time it takes you to realize that, you've leaped from your seat and in two long tiptoe strides, you float into Miss Hemstitch's office and into the chair opposite her desk. Again, light golden wood seems to be the motif, with woolen rugs, hangings, and pillows.

"Miss Woodbine of House Minerval," the Tutor acknowledges you. A senior witch in Beavertail brown with broad gold trim at cuffs, hem, and belt, Miss Hemstitch has seen it all, and retains good humour in most circumstances. "I understand you've come to ask for my assistance in arranging for Miss Golondrina Redmoor of House Leontes to join my House."

"Yes, Tutor," you say.

"An unusual request," Miss Hemstitch says. "Generally the student in question will come herself, or request the Tutor of her House to approach me. That would be Mr. Sharper, for Leontes."

"Yes, Tutor," you say.

"Why have you come to ask me?" Miss Hemstitch says.

You feel the weight of her gaze upon you, and the tickle of magic, likely divination or verification.

"Because I've fallen in love with Miss Redmoor," you say. You feel your cheeks warm as they colour. "And so has Fay, my roommate. And we want to be in the same House."

"You and your roommate are third-year, and Miss Redmoor is first-year," Miss Hemstitch says. "Can you be trusted to be kind to her, and considerate?"

"Yes," you answer without hesitation.

"I have inquired with the Tutor of House Leontes' as to Miss Redmoor's circumstances," Miss Hemstitch says. "Mr. Sharper has given me to understand that the Warden has given you and Miss Applebum permission to visit Miss Redmoor, as long as she, the Warden, supervises you."

You swallow, your shoulders tightening. "Yes," you say.

Miss Hemstitch inclines her head to one side, then, straightens it. "Did the Warden involve herself sexually with any of you when you visited Miss Redmoor?"

"Y-yes," you squeak.

"Did you receive any punishment in House Leontes or House Minerval after visiting Miss Redmoor?"

Your face must be crimson now. "Yes," you **** out.

"I begin to understand why you've come to see me," Miss Hemstitch says. "Tell me more."

On a 7-9, Miss Hemstitch agrees to let you ASK FOR A FAVOR. As a complication, the Warden of Leontes hears about your appointment and you will have to DEAL WITH YOUR HANGER-ON next.

On a 10+, Miss Hemstitch is willing to grant you a FAVOR and help make your case getting Golondrina into House Beavertail.

It doesn't take long until Miss Hemstitch is nodding along with your story. "Indeed," she says. "I'll want to talk with your roommate Miss Applebum presently, and eventually with Miss Redmoor." She nods. "But I have heard enough that I would speak in support of Miss Redmoor's case, at the time she should request a transfer."

"Thank you, Tutor," you say. "That is all I had hoped for."

Miss Hemstitch's assistant escorts you out of House Beavertail, since you were the Tutor's last appointment. As you cross the main courtyard of Boarbristle, a tall, solid figure in a gold-trimmed red dueling suit steps up and calls you over.

The Warden herself, her round dark face looking intent.

"Morgan?" she says.

"Warden?" you say. As she's in red and gold, and you're in black and white, there's only so much she can ask of you. Especially here in front of everyone.

"When are you coming to visit again?" Barbara Torch asks in a low voice.

The intent look in her face is lust to watch you with Golondrina again.
