And Your New Noblemen

It is announced throughout the capital city of the birth of your ‘legitimate children’ and heir to your throne. The people cheered for their birth and safe entry to the world.

There are no grand feasts or festivals in the streets. Instead you decree that for the next three days, any one who did not want to work had the option of taking a day off. But as far as your servants go, they each have their own designated days of leave.

Letters are written and sent to your mother and sister and of course to Louis and Jacqueline and Alana and Franz Karl. It will take a little while before the letters reach them however.

Dietrich, Gunther and Benjamin each congratulate you and the Queen for the births. You would dismiss Gunther and Benjamin so they could take their own day to relax. However Dietrich simply has too important of duties to take a day off. You have your meeting with the loyal men.

You told these men of events in Linberburg. Astounded as they were, they couldn’t conplain. Benjamin informs you that the candidate for the next Duke of Linberburg has, for the present time, no ulterior motives against you and can be trusted enough. Benjamin is then ordered by you to keep an eye on them all still. You order Gunther send a capable and trusted men to head off to Linberburg and sort out their forces as soon as he can.

“General Gunther, Spymaster Benjamin, you are dismissed. Enjoy your days off.” The two capable men stand from their chairs.

“My King.” The two men bow and left the council room.

Dietrich and you get off your chair and walk towards the window. You look outside with Dietrich behind you looking at your back. “Should I be surprised you inherited a Duchy and added a new territory to Ostgrenze?” He sounds really pleasant about the news.

You smile looking out the window. “A near astronomical amount of luck if there ever was one.” You turn around to face Dietrich, “Now are you sure don’t want to take a few days to just relax?”

Dietrich just laughs and reaffirms his stance that he just cannot take even one day of being free of his duties. Dietrich congratulates you again and reminds you of one more important task you need to fulfill for the day. Meet the Lords of the newly acquired region of Silasie.

In the throne room are Earl Magnus and around ten minor Lords under his control. You greet the men and they give the appropriate response before going down on one knee with each man swearing an oath of loyalty. You remove yourself from your throne and pull Earl Magnus to his feet and ordering the others Lords to get up. You accept their fealty and offer them a small feast. The noblemen have also brought their wives and their heirs and other children.

During the feast, the Lords and Ladies and young Lords and Ladies try making small talk and other flattering attempts. Nothing you didn't expect for them to say. Just the whole 'so young yet so accomplished' or 'you've added more territory to Ostgrenze than your predecessors ever did'. You thank them for their words but for the most part, you let them lead the conversation and you just reply to acknowledge that you heard what they said. They also congratulate you and Camilla on your new heirs. Camilla is with Dorothye and the babies. You tell them she needs to watch over the children and thus could not join you and them.

You offer the noble guests a few days of stay when you dismiss them. You head off to a random part of the castle when you run into two women. One is your age and the other you guessed is in her mid-thirties. But both of them share a strong resemblance to each other. A mother and daughter perhaps?
