Chapter 6 by Kalion Kalion

Do you keep to your word to Rest & deal with the council?

Your word Is Your bond

After Mei left you looked over at the cheap Leather Armour you wore when you were stabbed and realized if you plan on traveling you need to make a new set that offers better protection without compromising your ability to move unseen when needed. Also to create your Phantom persona in battle you will also need to forge a new pair of gauntlets to hide your burned arms to not give away your identity too early and upgrade them with either Panther or Bear claws for the ability to add to your unarmed combat techniques plus the use to climb certain buildings or trees with ease. If you have time you will make a Helmet mask to further hide your silver hair from identifying you, along with creating a new weapon. You were thinking of maybe going with a new Katana either with a lighter metal to increase its speed or you could look into the revolving crossbow that is being developed by researchers from both Wilds and High Keep Tenor.

"Dawn come!" you order "I've got a few messages for you to deliver to the Phantom Unit for our upcoming travels" you request of the Owl you named Dawn since she was injured when you found her with a broken wing at a young age. You nursed her back to health and set her free and now she returns to you every Dawn, every day, unless sent farther out.

Your owl companion flies off the sleeping Dusk's head over to your desk looking at the scrolls you've prepared. You've worked up a plan to wrap your scrolls with different colored straps. These colored straps let her know who to deliver which one to. She picks them up and fly out the window towards the southeast marsh were you have a secret fort that houses the Phantoms of The Wilds. These are your personally trained warriors who are broken like yourself with troubled pasts making them a group of deadly assassins and elite warriors with a high level of discipline.

You move to sit back on the bed and take the tar-like medicine Mei gave you. Just before as you're taking your medicine you hear a knock on the door. You know that Mei would barge in meaning this is either your uncle or father checking in on you "Enter!" you reply "I'm just going to **** down this vile tasting concoction Mei made me" You say making a face of disgust as the medication works its way down your throat.

"Ahhh, so she is giving you that poison too my son?" your father smiles "I try to wait until she leaves the room and I toss it aside but lately she doesn't leave and will **** it down my throat!" your father Sage Saito says to you with a smile before he frowns at the site of your charred arms.

Noticing the expression on his face and his linger on your singed skin "It's not your fault father..." you say with a sigh "I know I wasn't supposed to go to the academy on that day but you know my curiosity..." you say in an attempt to play it off as a regular childhood injury but your father knows its not the physical wounds that bother you but the mental ones from your mothers **** on your fifth birthday.

With sadden eyes your father looks upon you "Your mother would not blame you for failing to save her, Kaito." he gives you a soft grin "and no matter what, she will always be proud of you." you reciprocate with a nod "If she saw you today, Sara would beat the both of us to **** for you haunting yourself Kaito."

You let out a laugh at your father remembering his wife.

"Orrr..." your dad stalls his words "Should I say Mystic of Phantoms?" he raises an eyebrow "I know you're planning to search out why this current attack happened" Sage Saito tells you knowing he can't stop your adventure but he recognizes your reasons.

"Yes father, I plan on becoming my persona of the Phantom Mystic to find the truth." you give him a stern look "But I also plan on finding a bride in my travels before I return to become the next Sage. I need to find that someone, that person who will stand by my side, that person like my mother did with you. So please, give me some time to figure this out and when I return, you may announce your retirement." you say looking at the man you thought invincible when you were a child seeing the age getting to him plus the last attack on him left him weak due to an unknown poison.

"You know my son, I'll tell you I can give you two years before the poison is unable to be kept from progressing." his voice turns heavy "I also need you to get the Council to agree to your leadership before you leave..."

"I can do that, father." you sternly reply.

Your father nods back at you before turning around to exit the room, he stops at the door and turns his head back to you "Oh, and if you could take Mei with you...I could use a break from her constant need to see me suffer from that noxious medicine she forces me to take constantly!" your father jokes causing both of you to laugh earning you both pain from your recent injuries.

Do you rest a bit or start looking into answers by Talking to your Uncle?
