A Storm Is Brewing

Practicing with some random Sunriders down in the Training Grounds was just your standard every day thing. Since you've been here in Sicilian it's basically what you've done almost every single day here. You knew you were most likely the best warrior in Sicilian but that didn't stop you from trying to raise your skill ceiling even higher.

You decided to train out on this little Plateau just because it would allow your warriors to watch you if needed. You like to show off when you can so you figured taking on two Sunriders at once would be a good way to start your day.

You roll across the Plateau dodging the attack of a Sunrider and as you do you leap yourself forward, slashing your wooden sword across her chest, causing her to fall backwards onto her butt on the rock ground below. "Ahh ahhh!!" she says "You're so quick!" she admits defeat.

With a little hop you turn your body around and look at the other Sunrider and that's when your eyes look off into the distance. "Whoa..." you focus on the sky behind the second Sunrider. You all were so focused on your battle with one another that none of you even managed to see what was on the verge of rolling in.

The look of confusion causes both of them to turn to meet your gaze.

"Now that's not normal..." you mutter. In the distance you can see very dark clouds rolling in from the west over the barren landscape. You can see lightning striking down into the ground below and you realize that this looks to be one terrifying and powerful storm making it's way here.

It was a very surreal sight since every day in the Syndicate is usually hot, sunny and almost never a cloud in the sky. You've seen storms before, usually much farther south, but to see the dark grey clouds rolling in over the desert just looked somewhat strange.

"Looks powerful!" One of the Sunrider's says "We should probably hunker down." she doesn't even turn to look at you as she's just in awe from the sight before her. "Amazing..." her voice trails on.

You know the mountain is probably the safest place to be in during a storm because to be honest, wind, rain and thunder will not topple a mountain. Most of Sicilian should be safe as long as civilians stay inside their homes and you for sure know the castle would be safe from any storm as it's easily the sturdiest building above the mountain but still, you would feel better to be with your closest friends during the storm just to keep a watchful eye over them.

"Go spread the word." you tell the two Sunrider's you were just fighting "Tell people to take it easy, hunker down and just let the storm pass. Let the town folk know it's coming as well so they will be prepared for it." you order which they both eventually nod and leave the plateau.

As you stand there looking out into the distance, the air around you drops a few degrees and a tingle pulses down your spine which causes your body to shiver. "A storm in the Syndicate..." you grumble out "Weird..." your left hand goes up to rub the back of your neck. "Hope this isn't a bad premonition or something..." you continue talking to yourself as you watch the lightning continue striking down.

Your plan was to grab Lexie and Zoe and bring them to the castle where you would hang out with Karisi for the day and possibly the night depending how long the storm lasts. Even though these women in your life can easily handle the situation themselves you still wanted to be around them all during this storm to make sure everybody was safe. Plus, it would allow the four of you to catch up and discuss issues going forward, especially since one of those issues is you leaving south towards Rathkin and eventually going to Loner's Reach in a few days.

There was most likely only another hour or so before the storm would be right over top of you so without any more hesitation you leave the Plateau and make your way back to your chambers ready to grab your Fiance first, then Zoe and then get back to the Castle.
