Inside the Castle.
Pushing open the doors and stepping inside, multiple of your Sunrider's follow you inside, making sure they are watching your back in case tons of Rathkin warriors flood out. To your surprise, the halls are mostly sparse, just a handful of guards standing in your way, maybe a dozen or so. You almost felt bad for these loyal Rathkin warriors because they were outnumbered easily five to one and soon would be as slaughtered as the rest of the warriors.
"Flank left side." you order some of your Sunrider's, pointing them off towards a hallway on the left "Remember, kill the warriors, leave the unarmed, understand?" you nod "And you couple, flank right."
"Yes, sir!" They all say with command and work their ways down the respected halls.
"You three, follow me." you order a handful of Sunrider's to follow you straight ahead, making your way towards the Throne Room.
As you walk through the castle, it is just as empty as the inner city was. You figured there would be more guards, you knew Rathkin had an army just as big, if not even bigger than the Syndicate, so where the hell are they all. Once more, you thought about Ashe, hoping she was safe and wasn't getting ambushed by an entire army as she scouted the outside edges of Rathkin.
Turning one final corner you come into view of two marble doors with two guards standing at each side of the door. These two guards, dressed in a little heavier armor. Long shields that cover almost their entire bodies as well as holding longer swords.
You stop, your other three Sunrider's spread out to your sides, the four of you looking onto the two warriors.
"For Rathkin." One says in a deeper voice "For the King." The other replies, both readying their weapons as they take a defensive stance.
One Sunrider stays with you and tag team up, facing these two elite Rathkin warriors two versus one. Readying your weapons, you go forward, ready to kill these two final warriors that guard the door into the Throne Room. Going on the offensive you attack into one hard, slashing your swords with all your might, slashing to the left, before going back to the right.
These guards were good. They were well trained and knew how to block and attack back well. Plus they wore heavier armor so unless your dagger found the perfect crack in their armor there wasn't much else it was going to do. Still though, the one you were fighting against still didn't stand much chance as you kept up your **** and eventually when he had to go block an attack from the Sunrider helping you, it exposed just that tiny little section under his armpit where the armor wasn't fully encased. Seeing the vulnerability you twirl your dagger in your hand and with all your might swing to the side and your dagger just goes straight under his arm. His scream of pain echos loud through out the halls but it is quickly covered up by another scream. One of your Sunrider's fighting the other warrior has a sword sticking out her back as you watch her fall to the ground once he pulls the blade out.
Pulling out the dagger from his armpit, the warrior falls to his knees, dropping his sword and his shield. You grip his helmet, pulling it off, seeing the pain and anger in his eyes, as you pull your other arm back, your sword thrusts forward, going directly into his mouth and out the back of his head, ending his life instantly.
At the same time, both Sunrider's were fighting against the other Elite Guard and you joined in shortly after. Being three on one now, this guard, just like his partner stood no chance. He was soon just as gone as his other friend was.
"Get her to safety!" you order your two Sunrider's to take the wounded one out of the castle and bring her someplace safe. At first they hesitate, not wanting to leave you, but eventually they hear more groans from their wounded friend and take her in their arms and slowly start to bring her out of the castle.
Once more, you're face to face with those two marble doors. The final doors before the Throne Room. You were going to go in yourself, if there were multiple warriors you would retreat and wait for reinforcements, but if there wasn't many warriors, you would go in with full swords of fury.
With a hand on each door, you stall a brief moment "He's gotta be here...He's gotta be..." and with that you push the marble doors open, stepping inside the Throne Room.
