The Demons overwhelm Fuu quickly

As the false Emmaline approached the door to the storeroom, Fuu was certain the ambush would be waiting inside. She braced herself-- she was sure that whomever was waiting inside would be skilled, and they would likely outnumber her as well. It would be an uphill battle, but Fuu was well trained at fending off groups, even without her staff. When the demons came flooding out of the shadows, Fuu was braced for an attack--but she had been expecting humans, not monsters.

Fuu jumped backward, out of the room as they rushed her. She could hardly believe that Lady Dieudonne would go so far as to summon demons within her own castle--it seemed she had underestimated just how corrupt their enemy was. But there was no time for that now. Fuu was experienced fighting demons, but most of her techniques relied upon her weapon. She instinctively went to channel holy energy into the bladed staff, only to have the spell fizzle out uselessly when there was nowhere for the energy to go.

Fuu frowned as the first demon closed in on her--without her staff, her fists and feet would have to make due. She stepped to the side, punching the creature powerfully in the side of its head. The creature reeled back from the **** of the impact, but Fuu could already feel her energy being drained. And as she focused on the first threat, another pair of monsters had flanked her, their attacks on her back draining her even further.

Too late, Fuu recognized her enemy. She didn't have Becky's encyclopedic knowledge, but her teachings had included a number of otherworldly foes. As the six of them swarmed around her, another pair taking cheap shots from behind yet again, Fuu realized that her underestimation of Lady Dieudonne was about to prove fatal. She couldn't fight them unarmed, and she couldn't outrun them.

It wasn't long before the constant contact with these demons brought her to her knees. Fuu had tried to fight them off, but all too quickly it was over. Even with her incredible stamina and supernatural energy running through her, the devilish creatures were just too much for her to handle.
