Finishing the Rounds

You continued to walk around the entire city of Murnic. You climbed up in the watch towers, looking off into the distance. You took care of your tiger, making sure she was fed and watered properly. You even brought Zoe back to the Tavern to make sure she would safely reunited with her mother and brother. After all was said and done, you decided you needed to crash. Walking towards the nearest house in the area, you opened the door, walking around the house, looking for the closest bed, it was quite dim since most candles were not lite, but you figured that you could find a random place to sleep.

It wasn't long before you moved around in the darkened room and found a place to sleep. As you began to strip off your armor, you felt amazing, your skin finally connecting with the luke warm air, being able to finally let your body air out and the sweat in your armor to dry a bit. It felt good to just be in your very light cloth trousers and shirt. Part of you thought maybe you should sleep out in the open, still dressed up just in case so everybody knew where you were, and if they had any issues they could talk with you. But at the moment, you're going to pass out in a random bed, happy to just sleep the entire night away without any interruptions. You hoped if something were to happen, you would hear a commotion. With the patrols you had going outside of the town and through out the town, you figured you were good.

The instant you hit that mattress your body feels like it's goes completely limp. "Ahhhh..." you let out a giant breath of air, finally able to actually lay down in a bed again. You're on the verge of completely passing out even though you just laid down about forty seconds ago when you hear the door crack open.

"Occupied." you say aloud.

The door then immediately closes again. You think they caught the drift, leaving you to your slumber. But that's when you hear it, small footsteps walking across the wooden floor.

"Hello?" you stay laying down, your eyes wide open. There isn't enough light in the room to make out who is actually here "Who's there?"

"I thought I saw you come in here..." a voice whispers out, the footsteps getting closer and closer to the bed.
