Approach The Family

"Hold up a minute." you say as you walk towards the family.

"Sir!" your Sunrider turns and straightens her back out "Impressive fighting!" she nods.

"Thank you. I can take this family from here."

Your Sunrider just nods once more, giving you confirmation before she turns around and begins to walk the opposite direction.

"That was amazing!" Zoe starts "I couldn't see very clearly but your moves were immaculate! The way you dodged and rolled, blocked and parried."

You just look at this black haired, grey eyed women raising your eyebrow but not saying a word.

"S...s...sorry!" she hesitates "It's just, your fighting was that much better than before!" she exclaims "I...I watched you in Nillix." she replies "I was rooting for you then." her head rapidly shakes up and down "You were the underdog. I like underdogs. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Rixx too. Rixx is like super super cool too. I, I like him too. But everybody was cheering for him, so I cheered for you! Ya know, the underdog. Because I like underdogs." she keeps talking, you're surprised because she hasn't even taken a breath yet "And like, you were so impressive for being more of an unknown fighter! It was super fun to watch. I was in awe! I...I...I..."

Her mother turns around, looking at her daughter "Nillix sweety? When were you in Nillix?" she questions.

"Uhh, mom, I...I was..." she stumbles on her words "I...well uhh..."

"Listen," you interrupt, attempting to save her from lying "Let's get you and your son to the Tavern, get you a place to rest, some food to eat. I know it's been a rough day for you all."

"What of my daughter?!" her mom questions back "She's staying with us too!"

"I'd like a word with her." you reply "Don't worry, she'll be safe, you can trust me."

The mother would do anything for her children and even though she thinks of you as the bad guy, you have kept your word before so even though she doesn't like it, she does trust you "Okay, fine. You keep her safe, you hear me?! And if you even think about laying a hand on her..." she gives you a glare "Oh and don't stay out too late!"

"Deal." you smile at the mother "I'll have her back before you know it."

"Zoe, now give your mom a hug and a kiss." her mother orders.

"Mom..." Zoe looks embarrassed.

"Zoe."

"Come on mom, I'm not twelve anymore!"

"Zoe Lynn Barten" the mom has her angry voice now "Give your mother a hug and a kiss!"

You can't help but chuckle lightly at the mother using her full name. You actually recall your mother back in the day doing that when you were in trouble yourself.

With a sigh Zoe turns around and gives her mom a quick hug, followed by a kiss on the cheek, she tries to break away from the hug early but her mom holds her in, keeping her in a hug for a few brief seconds. After finally breaking loose of her mom's grip, she then immediately turns back towards you, "Okay, where to?" she asks.

"I love you!" her mother says, still looking at her daughters back.

Your eyes shift from Zoe's, back to her moms, back to Zoe's, her moms, then Zoe's one more time. You grin at the black haired women, holding back another laugh.

The mom clears her throat, slightly annoyed "I love you!" she repeats again, a little louder this time.

Zoe's cheeks are completely flush now, with a roll of her eyes and a giant sigh "I love you too mom!"

With that, the mom and the brother turn back around and make their way towards the Tavern.

You can only nod back at Zoe as your cheeks are bunched up, trying your best not to laugh at the embarrassed women.

"Don't even..."

"Hahaha!" you let out a giant laugh at the poor girl "Come on Zoe Lynn Barten" you tease "Take a walk with me."
