Chapter 8

How does Lillian handle this?
Go with them
Painfully aware of that she would be hard pressed to escape three experienced woodsmen, and that she probably wouldn’t last long in the woods without any equipment, weapons or even clothing, Lillian nodded her head in recognition of what the half-orc had said.
“Clever choice.” The half-orc said to her, Biggs looking pleased while Zhira rolled her eyes in disgust over having Lillian come with them.
The party left the clearing and began to hike through the woods, Zhira leading the way while Lillian had Biggs behind her, the halfling making lewd comments about the fine shape of Lillian’s ass.
The half-orc, apparently named Farkas, ordered the perverted little man to shut up after a while, so that they now moved in silence.
They were not moving in the same direction that Lillian had come from, and she figured that this was to avoid the tribesmen that she had run in to earlier.
However, this route was longer than the one she had taken, and they were still deep within the forest when the sun began to sink towards the horizon.
Lillian, who hadn’t gotten any sleep since leaving Tabriz, was by now severely fatigued, and she fell asleep as soon as the group had camped at a small patch of open ground.
Waking the next morning to find Biggs sleeping next to her, with Farkas and Zhira a few feet away, she grimaced in disgust over having the halfling’s right hand on her bare ass, and silently rose up on her feet.
Surprised by the fact that they would all be asleep and not bother about posting a guard, Lillian remembered that there had been a small creek just a hundred yards or so from the spot where they had halted.
Looking down at her body, which had been stained by grass and dirt as she turned in her sleep, Lillian figured that she could use some cleaning up.
Grabbing one of the heavy crossbows and a quiver of bolts that had been stacked with the rest of their gear on the ground, Lillian snuck through the woods towards the creek.
Once she had arrived by the small body of water that slowly trickled its way down towards the river that she had seen the day before, Lillian placed the crossbow and quiver in the sand and squatted down in the water.
Washing her arms and legs clean, Lillian gobbled down some of the fresh water, letting the coolness wake her tired senses.
She was armed now, and could leave the others behind before they awoke.
Before she could decide on what to do next, Lillian heard something stir in the woods behind her.
Grabbing the crossbow, Lillian stood ankle-deep in the stream and surveyed the tree
line before her.
Who’s there?
