Kenny Needs To Think...Alone

Kenny's eyes darted around, stopping at each of the girls in the room, or at least the ones that were intently waiting for his decision. He gulped slightly as he looked at Nicole, part of him thought that staying in the lodge with her could give them a real chance to talk, but then again, did she even want to? Nicole had made it clear to Kenny that she was pissed off this morning, and Kenny wasn't about to forget the fact she fucked Brian to try and hurt him. As much as he wished things were simple with Nicole, they weren't, and if he wanted anything more from Nicole than sex, he'd have to take some time and ask himself if he wanted to battle for it.

With Nicole out, Kenny's eyes moved to Mindy, his best friend, and apparently his drunken hookup. Kenny felt a drop in his stomach as he stared at the Asian girl, unsure of what he exactly felt in the moment. Mindy was always his closet friend, and that was all she ever was, a friend. But last night they hooked up, and Mindy didn't even seem to mind, in fact, the more Kenny thought about what she said when he woke up, the more he thought she was happy about it. Kenny blinked a few quick times and felt a sense of fear coming over him, unsure if he felt the same, and terrified that if he didn't his friendship might be over.

Kenny couldn't do it, at least not yet; he needed some distance for Mindy too. This caused the teen to let out a small cough, turning back to the counter he peered over to Rachel he hummed softly while cooking the eggs. Kenny felt some sense of relief knowing that Rachel was clearly interested in just fucking, but he wasn't sure what Brian would do if he found out about the pair. While Kenny didn't have any personal issue with joining Rachel to the towers, he realized that he'd just end up ignoring his problems if he went with her. Not to mention how angry it would make Nicole and possible Mindy, who could honestly end up hurt by the action, which Kenny in no way wanted to happen.

With a small sigh, the brown haired teen found his answer by process of elimination, "I'll go on a hunt for the caves," Kenny finally stated, "I wouldn't mind a quiet little walk in the woods today,"

"Really?" JJ asked with a slightly surprised look, "Huh, didn't expect that" JJ remarked imagining his friend would have stayed at the lodge with Nicole, especially since the girl had taken his virginity just the other day, "Well, I'm hitting the mines still." JJ shrugged while looking away,

"I may meet you guys over there after I lead my group to the towers, dad always told me they were kinda neat." Rachel said as she shut off the stove, unfazed by Kenny's choice completely, "Kailyn you should go too, if anything happens and someone gets hurt, you could have your first client." Rachel giggled,

"I'm not a lawyer yet," Kailyn laughed back, "But...I wouldn't mind spending a little time with," Kailyn with a quick glance at Brian who immediately caught the girls eye, "My little brother," She smoothly finished while smile as Brian internally grinned,

"I'm still staying here," Nicole grumbled out while crossing her arms, irritated in Kenny's choice but a bit relieved that he at least didn't choose the mines with Mindy,

"Mind if I stay?" Mindy weakly asked as she hung her head,

"What? Thought you were coming to the mines?" JJ asked with a confused, and slightly concerned look, "What happened?"

"I just remembered I wanted to get some writing done today, so I can do that with the lodge so quiet," Mindy mumbled back causing Kenny to look back and hold a sympathetic look, hating to see Mindy so clearly hurt, but Kenny knew he needed this time alone to think about them in particular.

"So is like, anyone coming to the towers with me, or can I just join the mining group?" Rachel asked with a quick scan of the room,

"Oh, I am!" Eric immediately said with a raise of his hand,

"Then I am too," Zoey easily smiled, "Let's check out some towers," She lightly laughed,

Anna wet her lips and looked up at Eric before turning to Zoey, "Is it okay if I come? I want to do something, but the mines sound scary, the caves sound boring, and I don't want to stay at the lodge." She asked with a friendly smile,

"Sure! That'd be fun to have someone else around." Zoey instantly agreed causing Eric to glare over at his ex-girlfriend, the memory of what happened last night flowing back into his mind.

"Alright then we're all set for the day, let's eat then we can start getting ready." Brian stated causing all eyes to return to him, "Now I want everyone to pack a bag of supplies, we have some emergency gear here, you know flares, first aid kits and what not, just in case anything goes wrong. But everyone should pack some extra clothes, plenty of socks and a little bit of food and water."

"Wooooooow, why don't you scare everyone to ****, Brian," Rachel sarcastically said with a toss of her eyes,

"No he's right," Kailyn sternly agreed, "It's better for us all to be safe, a lot can happen on a mountain,"

"Exactly," Brian wholly agreed, "Kenny, since you're going cave hunting alone, I'll get you some red flags you can tie off to trees. That way you can't get lost and if anything happens we have a trail that should lead us right to you." Brian explained with a little nod, internally calmed by the fact Kenny chose to stay away from his sister. He had actually forgotten that Rachel was the one to just him last night, making Kenny a bit of a victim of his sister's well-known libido. As far as Brian was concerned, Kenny was trying to be at least a little respectful of the line he crossed this morning, so he should just let it go.

"Sounds...sounds good," Kenny nodded as he kept his eyes down, not wanting to lock eyes with anyone at this moment. The teen was now just waiting for the moment when he'd finally have a chance to be alone, and he could lock down on his feelings. By the end of the day, Kenny hoped he could find out who he wanted to be with and what relationships he wanted with the remaining girls.
