Baptism By Fire

Cassandra wakes up the next morning and takes a quick shower before leaving the motel. She walks around town the no real destination, hoping to stumble upon a person in need of saving. After a while she sees a pillar of smoke in the distance.

She hurries in the direction of the smoke and there she sees an apartment building engulfed in flames. Ducking into a nearby alley, she changes into her costume and rushes into the burning building.

The heat is intense, but does no harm to her as she navigates the inferno, "Is there anybody in here?!" She calls out. "H-help.." A barely audible voice cries out. Cassandra makes her way through the burning rubble, toward the sound of the voice.

She busts down the door where she believes the voice is located. Looking around she sees a woman on the ground, ****. Cassandra grabs the woman and carries her out of the building. As she gives the woman to the paramedics, she notices the absence of any firefighters, not even the sound of sirens in the distance.

Cassandra decides she doesn't have time to worry about that right now and runs back into the blazing building. She checks the bottom floor once more before heading to the second. She calls out again, "Is anyone still in here?!" The sound of coughing is heard down the hall.

Cassandra rushes down the hall and sees a little girl trapped under some rubble. She lifts the rubble with ease and picks up the little girl. As she make her way back down the hall, the building begins to creak and shake.

Realizing what happening, Cassandra runs through an apartment door and jumps out the second story window, using her body to shield the girl from shattered glass. She lands in the middle of the street as the building collapses behind her. The dust and debris cloud the area.

As visibility slowing returns, Cassandra sees a crowd of people who begin to cheer her as she carries the little girl to safety. News crew run up to her, asking her a multitude of questions. Certain the girl is safe, Cassandra leaps away.
