Chapter 5 by GenericEditor168 GenericEditor168

*What tribe will you play?*

*Vespertiliones.*

Note: This tribe does not exist.

The Vespertiliones are an interesting tribe. They're a tribe of bat-men, for starters, and they also vary with the sun's status.

Normally, the Vespertiliones are a race on the wing, replacing the Riding tech with Flying, Riders with Vampyres (who have the same profile but add Flight, which means they can't benefit from roads but can fly over obstacles like water, enemies, or forests), and Knights with Gargoyles (Attack 3, Defence 1, Range 2, Escape and Flight).

However, if you become a Sunbringer before ending your first turn, the Vespertiliones change. They use the standard human tech tree, and gain the Trade tech.

Either way, the Vespertiliones homeland features muted colours, such as dark green grass, black forest wood, plain grassy hills, dark red grapes, and dark brown horses. Their cities are done in Venetian style, sometimes including actual canals, and made mostly from dark grey stone and black wood, with occasional splashes of colour.

No matter how they start, Vespertiliones are not "early risers". They either start with no tech, or a tech that's useless in early game, meaning they start behind in most games. However, their unique units can be quite powerful, especially for the ability to fly over enemies, and the ability to have Trade and customs houses without having to research Riding and Roads is not something to sniff at.

*What settings do you pick for this game?*
