The investigation continues
The figure on the wall was a crude hand shaped object that glistened on the wall. "Do you know what that means?" Aragorn asked Einis as they packed up and got ready to leave the ransacked house.
"No, but I have seen a similar badge on many orcs when we go out hunting around the hidden pass to Rivendell." Einis said.
"Interesting." Aragorn muttered.
"Yeah, a growing number of the orcs we kill carry the badge of a white hand. No one quite knows what it means, not even Saruman when Lord Elrond asked for his advice on the matter."
"Saruman! That's what it was." Aragorn said walking back to the man he had killed.
"Are you going to elaborate?" Einis said "You know how that ticks me off."
"Yes, sorry, come look at this tattoo." Aragorn showed Einis who stooped down to take a look.
"Doesn't ring any bells." She said.
"It's a clan tattoo from the clansmen of Dunland!" Aragorn said.
"You seem excited, and yet, I still have no clue why." Einis said dryly.
"It was on the tip of my tongue, I'm just happy I figured it out." Aragorn clarified.
"Ok, but that does raise a question, doesn't Dunland exist under the shadow of Orthanc in Isengard? If trouble were brewing among the wildmen, Saruman would let us know." Einis said.
"And another question, now men use the badge of the hand? Even though it's not white, there has to be some similarity." Aragorn said.
"Don't tell me you're actually suspecting Saruman? He is the leader of the White Council, the most powerful wizard in middle earth. Long has he studied the ways of Sauron, he is well versed in the area and is a huge asset to us."
A) Aragorn is becoming suspicious of Saruman
B) It must be a coincidence
C) Leave a suggestion
"You may be right of course, just stray thoughts going through my head." Aragorn laughed.
"As you said earlier, we should leave this town as soon as possible. Whatever this attack means, whatever they were looking for, it all sounds to me like they are searching for the ring same as us doesn't it?" Einis asked.
"You may be right, but then again, not many people know that the ring has been found, let alone where it is and where it is going. We may be getting a little ahead of ourselves here." Aragorn tried to assure her.
"You can't rule out the coincidence though." Einis said.
"It may be just that, coincidence. Until we know more, we won't change our plans." Aragorn said. The two of them slipped out of the house as inconspicuously as possible until they were walking on the street again. Aragorn had many questions that needed answering, and he had a way to get those answers, but should he risk it?
A) Visit the shrine of Melkor again
B) Don't risk it, he'll find out about the connection between Dunland and the White hand another way
C) Leave a suggestion
