Deeper into the Dungeon

You continue to hastily walk through the corridors of the dungeon, searching as quickly as possible to find Claire in time before more guards are alerted to the dead bodies by the entrance. You turn one more corner and are suddenly greeted by two more Rathkin soldiers, both who are standing around by a locked cage which has one lonely Sunrider in it.

"Halt!" one of the guards commands with authority "You don't belong here."

You feign surrender, holding your hands up slightly as you walk forward towards the guard, closing the distance between them.

"Not another st..." his eyes drift down, seeing a droplet of blood fall from your dagger down onto the stone floor below you. This instantly causes him to unsheathe his weapons as the second guard does the same.

"Please guys...you don't want to do th..." you're interrupted as the guards immediately charge at you.

"Ahhhhh!" they both scream in rage.

You quickly grab your short sword in your right hand, swinging it upwards to block the first guards slash into you. Immediately after your left hand grabs your dagger bringing it up as well to block the second guards attack, easily blocking both their assaults as you shuffle backwards a few steps to regain your composure.

The guards lunge forward at you again, trying their best to not give you any chance to retaliate. All it takes it a quick side step to the right to completely dodge his thrusts, it leaves his body open to your dagger which you easily slash forward toward his neck. You actually miss his neck but you gouge deep from his lower chin all the way up the side of his face.

"Ughhh!" He immediately cries out as his sword falls to the ground and his body plummets to the floor "Ahhh fuuuuck!" he moans in anguish. You end his life by thrusting your short sword slightly to the right side in the middle of his shoulder blades, piercing through his heart, silencing him instantaneously.

The second guard is frozen in fear. His mouth is opened wide, his body shaking slightly. "Uhhh..." is all he can muster out between his deep breaths "Please..." he throws his sword on the ground as he drops to the floor on his knees, interlocking his fingers together while pleading for his life "I beg you! Please spare me!"

You walk up to him, never leaving his eyes. You're a foot away from him, staring down at him, you sheath your dagger as you keep your short sword engaged. Shortly after, you lower your hand down toward his head, reaching around and cupping the side of his head.

"Please...." he sniffs deep "I surrender!" he weeps once more.

You pull his head forward as you crash your knee hard into his face causes a loud cracking sound to expel from his face. Blood spews out from his nose, his eyes roll to the back of his head while his body falls limp to the ground below you.

You just shake your head at the pathetic guard as you sheath your short sword now, fingering through your pocket for the key ring as you look at the lone Sunrider locked away in the cage.

It takes you just a brief few seconds to finally figure out who the figure is. Her hands tied behind her back, a gag tied around her mouth allowing her not to speak, blood running down the side of her head, almost blending in completely with her fiery red hair...
