Zack And Chloe Talk Before Bed

Zack and Chloe reached their room and walked back inside; Zack let out a slow sigh, happy to be away from the others. He felt sorry for snapping at Heather as she hadn't done anything wrong to him personally, but he was way on edge. He didn't know if Ashley would stay back if Kurt would try anything else and even worse, what Brandon was thinking about him. He had wanted to tell Brandon what happened between him and Ashley privately, not just have it blurted out, he had no idea if Brandon was okay with him or simply trying to stay clear from him.

Just then he heard the soft click of Chloe locking their door before she too let out a relieved sigh, "That was a good dinner," She immediately said to Zack with a smile as she pulled off Zack's hoodie, "You were right, it was a bit too warm for this,"

Zack took a few steps towards her and lightly placed his hands on her shoulder's causing Chloe to look up at him nervously. Zack leaned forward, pushing his lips against hers, paying attention to her reaction closely. Chloe kissed back in earnest but nowhere as deep as Zack was used to. He broke the kiss and pulled back, staring at her sympathetically, "You're terrified." He murmured out causing Chloe to narrow her eyes slightly,

"No, I'm fine Zack, I swear," She instantly replied, her voice nearly sounding irritated,

"Chloe, you're locking our doors, wearing big clothes so no one can see your body and you're afraid to show affection with me." Zack tenderly replied, pointing out everything he noticed over the day, "You don't have to be okay, I don't expect you to be, but I don't want you to lie to me. I need you to trust me, and not be afraid of me knowing this kind of stuff,"

Chloe's lips trembled slightly, "I'm so sorry Zack but maybe you're part of the reason I'm afraid to tell you this!" She suddenly yelled out shoving him back. Zack's eyes sprung open as Chloe clenched her fists, "Maybe you should ask yourself why I wouldn't want to tell you this!"

Zack blinked rapidly, his heart beating quickly, "C-Chloe, I-"

"No Zack, you-you scared me more than Ashley and Kurt ever did today!" Chloe interrupted as she quickly wiped her face from a few tears, "You tried to leave me! Why?!" She asked while walking forward hitting his chest, "Why did you do that?!" Chloe hit him again this time while starting to break down, "Why did you say that..." She whimpered out softly while pushing her head into Zack's shoulder now fully crying,

"Oh god," Zack whispered while instantly wrapping his arms around Chloe, "I'm sorry Chloe. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," Zack repeated multiple times as Chloe clung to his shirt, Zack felt a few tears of his own fall to the floor,

"I-I can't do this without you," Chloe said through a broken voice, "I can't, I can't, I can't,"

Zack's grip on Chloe tightened, "I didn't-I won't...You won't Chloe; I won't make you do that." Zack assured her, "I was stupid, I didn't know-I didn't think about what it would do to you when I said that. It was...it was the only thing I could think of to protect you. I swear to god Chloe, I don't want to leave you, I never wanted that." Zack babbled out through his own sobs, "I love you, I swear to you the only reason I said that was out of love for you."

Chloe's hug soon turned into a comforting one for Zack, "I-I know," She whispered back with a small sniffle, "but it still scared me, thinking about anyone else with you...it'd break me, Zack,"

Zack pressed his face into Chloe's hair on the top of her head taking a slow breath before planting a kiss, "I'm sorry, Chloe." Zack whispered out, "Please, don't think of that anymore, I don't want you afraid to tell me what's going through your head because you think I'll leave."

"Promise?" Chloe murmured back,

"Promise." Zack warmly assured her, "So, tell me," Zack said after a moment,

Chloe pulled away from Zack and took a deep exhale, "Okay...Zack, I can't stay here anymore, regardless of what happens with Lisa's cabin, I need to leave." She finally said causing Zack to let out an understanding nod, "I'm so scared, but not just for me but for you,"

"Me?" Zack asked tilting his head slightly,

"I don't want you here either; I don't want Ashley near you anymore. I don't want Kurt or Brandon trying to hurt you either. I just want us somewhere safe, somewhere where we don't have to worry about anything but each other." Chloe explained wholeheartedly,

"Then...Then why did you want us to go to Lisa's cabin? We can just go home." Zack pointed out slightly confused,

"Because Vicky and Gavin don't want to be here either." Chloe replied while shaking her head, "They're my friends, and I don't want just to leave them here, so when Vicky brought up the cabin, I wanted to help them." Chloe explained, "But I told her if Lisa says no then we need just to leave, that's what has to happen."

Zack nodded and walked forward, pulling Chloe back into a hug, "Then that's what'll happen." Zack softly murmured to her, "Can you handle tonight? I can drive us home if you can't, I don't care about how long the drive is,"

"I can handle it," Chloe firmly said, "I can do tonight, I want to hear what Lisa says first, okay?"

"Of course, whatever you want." Zack softly replied, "C'mon, let's lay down, see if we can get some sleep." Zack said as he lead her back to their bed, getting in slowly. He pulled Chloe close, letting her head rest on his chest while he kept himself sitting up slightly, watching the door so Chloe could stay calm and let some much-needed sleep overtake her.
