John and Amy parted ways after he had shown her to the main office, wishing her luck on sorting things out. He noticed that she left his party automatically, and cast another Spy on her as she turned and left.

That was a nice rise in score. He looked at the quest to see if he had completed it yet or if that had counted three times, and he discovered the former was true. He was currently at fourteen out of twenty people, which was for the second set of rewards. Checking the rewards for the second set revealed them to be exactly the same as the first, only with an extra Charisma point and the enchanted item was rare, not uncommon. As he was pondering the next set of rewards, a quest appeared in front of him.

He hit accept and noticed he still had the quest to lose his virginity to Jenny. I guess eventually I’ll have to pick between one or the other… a choice I doubt I’ll be lucky enough to be **** to make. He thought, smiling to himself at the irony of it all. He hadn’t even had any form of sex yet.

He turned his attention back to the quest, thinking about how easily her relationship score rose. Those are some nice relationship score gains, hopefully I can keep that trend going and by the end of the day have over fifty.

Like that’s ever going to happen, a small voice at the back of his head chimed in, maybe if I had put all those points into Charisma. He walked into his business class, wondering what to do to fill the period.

Mr. Oliviera was boring as usual, and he decided to play with his interface and maybe Meditate to see if he could discover new skills. He took his seat and immediately tuned Mr. Oliviera out.

As he was swiping past his character sheet, he noticed a list that told him his achievement history, then quest history. That’s pretty useful, though nobody ever really uses those in games, he scrolled to another screen and found the customization options, and after fiddling around for a while, ended up with a character sheet he liked more.

That looks better, I guess; I can always change it back… satisfied with his design choice, he paid attention to the teacher to find out if he had missed anything important.

“In short, you will be given all of this period to work on the assignment most of you were absent for. Those of you who have already finished it may have the period off. I’m not going to teach to only half of you,” Oliviera finished in an exasperated voice. John was elated at those news.

Looking back to his interface, he noticed that he still had those three skill points to spend. He considered putting them in Meditate, as that took forever to level up, but was conflicted about it. I don’t really need to level up Meditate, it doesn’t seem like a higher level leads to me discovering new skills quicker. Then again, its boosts increase, and those have been helping me out a lot.

John decided to put it off until the end of the period and tried to Meditate, but before he could, the class was interrupted as a familiar face was escorted into the room.

The faculty member who had walked her here, a plain looking janitor, which a quick Spy revealed to be named Gerald, whispered something to the teacher before leaving the room.

“Well, class, it seems we have a new student with us today! Please welcome Amy Song to the class!” Mr. Oliviera announced monotonously, obviously indifferent about it, before asking, “Would anybody like to explain to this fine girl what the class is about?” John noted the name the school used was slightly different from her real one and told himself to ask about it, among the other various questions he wanted to ask her.

“Actually, I already know somebody here…” Amy timidly interrupted, nothing like the cheery, excitable girl from this morning when in front of a crowd, apparently.

“Who would that be?” Oliviera asked as a murmur ran through the class, rumors spreading through the classroom from people on the bus, some of the boys faces looking dejected at the missed opportunity to get a good first impression with the cute new girl.

“John,” Amy said, pointing at him. Faces turned to him, as he surprised himself by holding his head high.

“I’d be happy to tell you the gist of things,” he replied, wanting the scene to be over.

“Well, that works out well, why don’t you take the empty seat behind him,” Mr. Oliviera explained, ushering Amy toward John before going back to his computer.

“Why hello there, stranger,” he joked as she put her bag down and sat in the desk behind him. She pulled out her schedule to compare and see if they had any more classes, and it turned out that other than a few electives after lunch, they had mostly the same classes.

“That makes sense, none of my classes are full, and you’re in the same year as me,” he reasoned, and he felt relieved. Now, he could have her help him decide what to do with his skill points and satisfy his curiosity about the Abyss during their other classes.

“Whatcha doing right now?” she asked as she had noticed him deliberating over something when she had walked in.

“Trying to decide what to put skill points into,” he replied and sent her a party invite so she could help him.

After a while, they both decided that, since Mana Construct was the skill he used the most and Marksmanship seemed ideal for doing damage, he would put two skill points in the former and one in the latter.
