I woke up that morning to the smell of Mom cooking dinner. My other mother was away on business, leaving just me and Momma Kate to fend for ourselves once again. However, on this particular day, there was another scent beneath the bacon and eggs. As I took a shower and slipped on a punk rock shirt and my favorite pair of distressed blue jeans, that scent filled my nostrils and then my head. Mom was in heat. Slipping into the kitchen, I saw Mom washing some dishes dressed in a green apron, a cut off shirt that showed lots of her belly and back, and a skirt she would have yelled at me for even having it was so short.
