Chapter 6
by Thorn_
Can you overpower her?
Fighting turns out to be pointless.
As soon as she releases the flames from her spell, it's counter with Ice Blast. As soon as you fire a stream of ice, it's blocked by flames. The volley keeps going back and forth, in a classic battle of fire and ice. It quickly proves that using the same moves is going nowhere, with each attack from the other canceling each other. The hallway is almost completely scorched black or iced over, telling of the power behind these attacks. That's not felt for either of you. Once she finally manages to catch you in the shoulder, a low flying blast hits her leg.
It's easy to pull yourself back up from that and while she stumbles for a second, she clearly isn't even that badly hurt. There's almost no hints that even connected. Ice resistance. That takes away where your arsenal shines. When it's clear that the flame attacks she is using aren't even that serious to you, she has the same look. Of course, these aren't the only abilities either of you have.
"I guess it's no good then, huh?" It's a half pout on your face as you ready your arm again. However, instead of another ice bolt, the sound of crackling and popping comes into your ear, while readying an Electric Blast. Maybe it's not one of your stronger skills, but it's better than using something that doesn't work well on the enemy. From the look on her face, she is genuinely worried about you using it too.
That doesn't last long before she raises her arm up in a green glow. It seems to almost circle around her arm and it's obvious that it's a Wind based attack. You aren't quite sure just how "Weak" you are to wind, having never been hit by one. You don't want to find out. The only option of sending your blast first, is performed letting the sparks fly and strike her in the body as she completes the casting of the wind attack. The green blurry lines circle over your lighting stream, and strike hard, knocking you completely off the ground.
The sound of the crash and the sight of dust escaping from the part of the wall that you crashed into is not a good sign. Everything hurts. But this can be fixed. It worked for minor wounds before, so there's no reason that Omniheal won't work now to at the very least take the pain away. Placing one hand over yourself, there's a fast white glow that fades as soon as it appears. Any traces of pain are gone, and you can get back right up in time, to see her do the exact same move and recover from your attack.
The only thing you two can do is stare at each other.
"Well, that went nowhere." Both of you, stop preparing your next attack, to look at the mystery voice commenting.
Whose the voice watching your anti-climatic fight, belong to?
