As above, so below

Now, for the last two days, there weren't many things that made John fear for his life, but the Angel of Destruction hovering above him was definitely a reason to feel pretty scared. Unequipping his spear, John immediately raised his hands in a non-hostile fashion, "N-Now, Titania, I'm sur- 'hrgkh'"

Immediately, John was raised up into the air by his throat, the clawed fingers closing in around his air pipe. "How do you know my name, Newman? Is it that festering ability of yours? I have seen many people with powers as free as yours, and I have seen them all fall to their own greed. You are young; you are naive and stupid. If you don't fall to the darker sides of your power, you will be the biggest target in the Abyss," while she said that, she slowly hovered up towards another roof, taking foot on it.

Where the hell was Brun? That question was answered a second later as she got pulled up to the roof in a translucent blue bubble, angrily smashing against it, screaming something that couldn't be heard. Gary was with her in that bubble, angrily running around and trying to peck at the bubble.

"Now, why shouldn't I kill you? Not only is your power a potential threat to this world, bastardizing it to no limit, but you also broke my limiters that kept me from being woken up. I didn't want to haunt this poor girl, I didn't want to deal with this wretched world and its inhabitants, but no, you had to meddle with things you have no idea of. I should just block your powers, and throw you from this roof, let's see if you can survive that."

John didn't like the sound of that, at all... But he did have an idea. Croaking out of his half-crushed windpipe came a single sentence, "How about a deal?"

That seemed to get Titania interested, "Oh? A deal? What do you have here that you could offer to me?"

Her grip loosened a bit so John could properly talk, "You obviously hold no love to the ones that put you in this situation. I'm sorry that I broke the limiter, but it made Astrid weak, she looked like she could die any second. My offer to you would be that I would help you, or Astrid, to find out whoever did this to you and make them pay. But I don't get why you think my ability is that bad... I mean... It's just something I can do..."

The angel rose an eyebrow towards him, clearly doubting him in something he just said, "Hmm... It is true that I don't hold any love for the ones that returned me from my eternal rest, and I don't care for what happens to the world now... And to what my limiter did to the girl, it was a necessary sacrifice so she wouldn't break under the full scope of my power... But something seems to be wrong with her; these people did more than I knew it seems... Alright, I'll spare your life for now, but you have to promise me something: Protect the girl. No matter what, I can feel now that the limiter is broken, that my time in this body is limited, as the girl will always be dominant; maybe she will learn to use my powers. But be sure, John Newman, I will know if you lied to me, and I will punish you for deceiving me," she said as she threw John across the roof, where he came to a stop.

"And regarding your powers, I have seen into your mind during your... copulating with my host. The problem with your powers isn't that they're inherently bad, but they do not have limitations. From what I've seen, you could reach any power you want if you put your mind to it. And that makes it bad because unlimited power will always corrupt its wielder," and with those words, Titania sunk down onto the ground, and the armor on her body reverted back to the form of Astrid, who immediately slumped down ****. The bubble around Brun and Gary disappeared, dropping both of them onto the roof.

The Valkyrie immediately ran to her sister and cradled her in her arms, checking for a pulse. Once she was sure that Astrid was stable, her wings instantly materialized while she sped for John, hoisting him into the air similar to how Titania did just a second ago, "You just had to fuck with things you had no idea what they were, huh? Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do something. You obviously fucked with something more powerful, and now not only YOU have to deal with that but also my fucking SISTER! How am I going to explain this to mom? She'll hunt your ass down, and honestly, I think you deserve it! How can someone be this stupid?!?"

This tirade of berating started to grind on John now. Everybody seemed to want to get their hook in on him now and show him how much of an idiot he was. "Are you done insulting me for my apparent stupidity because I tried to help your sister? Yes I fucked up, and yes I'll know better from now on, but do you really think I wouldn't try to help her in that situation? I had no idea it could do something like that! I didn't even have any idea that she had something in her, how could I? Obviously, you didn't either, and you were looking for her for six years!"

That one seemed to have hit a sore spot because Brun then let John down and slapped him across the face.

"Fuck you," that was all she said as tears started to form in her eyes. She turned around, picked up Astrid and disappeared from the Barrier before John could properly register what happened. Fuck... that didn't go well at all...

It was at this moment that he felt lonelier than ever before... Not because he was never this alone, but because he simply finally found people he could do stuff with, only to apparently lose them through his own actions. Not that it meant that he wouldn't try to talk to them again, but it seemed like he seriously fucked up...

Lost in his mind, John simply cast Leave Barrier and Delete Barrier to leave no trace of the place.

John was standing back in the alley where they had come from... how exactly did the leaving of the Barrier work? Did it put him back at the place he came from? Was it random? John didn't know and wasn't in the right mindset to find out right now...

Shit! He still had Gary with him now that he left the Barrier! Quickly thinking about what to do with the little guy, John did the first thing that came to his mind: He put him into his Inventory.

Okay, that at least worked... Not like he wanted it to, but at least it did...

Looking at his phone revealed that overall maybe an hour had gone by since they had entered the Barrier. It also revealed that he had no texts waiting for him...

With nothing else to do, John then switched back into his school gear and took off in the direction of the next bus stop.

He still had some 'talk' that was expecting him at home...
