Becky goes west, following the dark

The fading light despite torches, the arcane hum in the air-- Becky didn't know for sure what lay at the end of the western path, but she knew that Gnolls were renowned for their shamanistic magic. If there was a Gnoll shaman somewhere in the cave system, the group absolutely needed to know before they attacked, since magic users were often powerful and could completely swing the flow of combat.

Becky made her way down the path, sticking near the walls. The **** darkness made it easier for her to fade into the shadows, but something about it felt off. Becky was never too comfortable in the dark, for she knew she was a stranger borrowing the night from its true denizens, but this darkness made her feel more nervous than usual. Still, she needed to use everything available to her to her advantage whenever possible. She didn't get this far in life without being resourceful.

The cave was long, thin, and winding, but only had the one path, lined the whole way with the same torches amidst shadow. Eventually, it opened into a wider chamber, with a ceiling high enough that Becky couldn't see the top of it in the dim lighting. The room was far more ornate than any of the rest of the cave she had been in thus far, with a number of carved pieces of wood pasted to the walls, painted with strange symbols which she Becky assumed had something to do with Gnoll shamanism, though she couldn't be quite sure what.

In the center of the cave was a small wooden hut, with a small porch with overlooked a natural cave pool. The pool seemed to give off an almost supernatural glow, though Becky couldn't quite be sure if she was just imagining that due to the ambiance.

From the symbols, she felt confident that there was a Gnoll shaman either in the hut or somewhere else in the caves. Still, it didn't seem like anyone knew she was here yet, and it wasn't completely confirmed where the shaman was. Perhaps this information is enough for now, or perhaps Becky wants to investigate further? She might even be able to take out the shaman on her own with the rest of the Gnolls being none the wiser if she was able to get the drop on him.
