Chapter 35 by Nemo of Utopia Nemo of Utopia

* What Is Your First Case Of The Day? *

* Orders Are Orders... *

The first case you are to hear is, of course, the dispute over the marriage of Anci and Chicahua.

Their families appear now to be bitterly divided over if the match should occur at all since neither bride-price nor dowry is to occur. You are glad that there are no lawyers yet because it makes it incredibly simple to cut this case to the bone. You hear the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings state their opinions, which appear to divide into two camps mostly along gender lines:

A: A marriage is a business transaction that cements alliances between families. (Males.)

B: A marriage is the union of two souls that creates a family unit to perpetuate the line of inheritance from the first people into the eternal future. (Females.)

You then have the two star-crossed lovers enter...

"Anci, do you love Chicahua?" You ask.

"Of course!" Anci, (a young woman of roughly eighteen years with tannish skin, brown eyes, and long black hair,) says, looking at her betrothed with nothing but respect and admiration.

"And, Chicahua, do you love Anci?" You ask.

"I do, your dominance," Chicahua* declares.
*(A tall young man of the same age layered with muscle and dressed in fine furs, though not as fine as those of his would-be bride...)

"Then..." You begin...
