Chapter 17 by Sidian Sidian

You thought the outside was amazing...

Mind Blown

"This place is huge..." you say aloud as you walk into the entrance.

"Sir Brex" she looks to her right, where a guard stands.

You can tell he's been in battle as his armor looks a little dated but also has some scraps and dents in it. He doesn't have his helmet on as he's holding it into his side with one arm. You notice two giant scars across his face which look to have once been very deep and painful but now just leave solid pinkish marks. With one going from his upper left eyebrow down to his top left corner of his lips and the other from his right ear, following his jawline around to the front of his face. It even appears part of his right lower earlobe has been chopped off. You might have been able to take the two guards who brought you here as they looked like amateurs, but this guy had you a little more on edge.

"Sir Brex, please escort my friend, Darien to the guest chambers. Allow him to better himself." she orders

"Yes Lady Karisi!" he replies on point, giving the Lady of the House a salute.

"Dinner in an hour, Darien" her eyes drift back to you "Clean up first...you stink" she sticks her tongue out just a bit before giving you a wink.

You weren't sure if you should be offended by that or....was she flirting? "Women..." you mumble to yourself as you shake your head "So hard to read." With that you lift your left arm up in the air and turned your head to that arm, bringing your chin down to inhale through your nose down by your armpit, getting a good whiff of your smell. "Whew..." you say a little loud "Wow." You probably haven't had a good bath for quite a few days now, especially since you have been living in the Slums of Rathkin which is far from a cleanly place.

"Darien is it?" Sir Brex extends his arm, bringing you in for a handshake "Follow me..." he pauses "Friend?" he raises his eyebrow. as he turns around and begins to walk down a hallway of the house. You quickly follow his stride, just a few paces behind him as your eyes continue to wander the house, looking at all the tapestries, the paintings and the silver and golden decorations. If you didn't know any better you would have just mistaken this woman for the Queen of Rathkin by how fancy and elegant not only the outside, but the inside of this house looks.
