She does

"Why of course," Mrs. Somersby-Walters nods her head after only the briefest glances at the sketch. "That's Ami Lee's work." She looks down at the torn paper again. "Certainly not her best work though - I've told her many times that these caricatures are a distraction."

"Thank-you so much Mrs. Somersby-Walters." You smile as charmingly as you know how as you reach for the picture. "Do you happen to know if she is already on campus?" Your easy charm doesn't fool the woman for a second and she pulls the sketch back out of your reach.

"Why do you want to know, and who are you again?" The suspicion in her tone is unmistakable.

"I'm the new Dean of Students, my name is Kyle Hawkfeather." Those two bits of information are all this grey-haired teacher needs to piece together your interest in Ami.

"I see Mr. Hawkfeather," she looks at the picture again, but you sense that it is more for effect than anything else. "Not a very good likeness. Is it?"

"No Mrs. Somersby-Walt-" Apparently your careful attempt to get her name right is just irritating this sharp-minded teacher.

"Oh for Goodness sake young man, just call me Barbara." She gestures with her head into the cabin and steps away from the door. "Why don't you come in and tell me how you came by this little picture?" The living area of the cottage is surprisingly messy compared to the neat styling of its owner. There are piles of periodicals on the dining room table and the living room is set up as a studio with an easel taking up a good part of the open area and paints and papers scattered about any available flat surface.

Barbara, slides a pile of magazines to make room for you on the couch and she perches on the edge of a fancy-looking antique chair set near the window. Taking the time to pick up a china teacup, and sipping from it before she turns her attention back to you.

"Before you say anything, Mr. Hawkfeather. I want to make it clear that Ami is a charming young woman, and I will not have you bullying her with no cause."
