Chapter 14 by 229

Where does she end up?

The Zoo

You step through the door, and it swings closed behind her. The sun is shining, the sky is blue, and you seem to be outside. There are buildings around, but none that look like the stone pillars of Alexandria Academy. You turn around, but instead of finding the door you entered through, you were looking through a door made of glass. And you were staring into the eyes of a wolf. The wolf was at eye level with you. The wolf was lying down. The wolf was enormous.

As you ran away from the wolf, you remember hearing about the twisting magical passageways of your school, and how there was no limit to where they could take you. You were certain she had heard about students who just disappeared. You felt a hand grab your arm, stopping you, and whirl to fight off your captor.

⚅⚄ + 2 (Physical) = 13

You spin around, punching in the direction you guess whatever grabbed you was in with all your strength. You hear a crunch, feel the hand let go of you, and see the figure you hit lift off the ground, only landing again ten feet away. He groans, and you go to see if the man was okay, while maintaining a fair distance.

The man was large, muscled, and handsome. He was the sort of man who would probably have a hairy chest, although he was wearing a shirt. He was not okay, it was clear, judging from the way his right arm was bent in too many places, and his left hand grabbing his ribs in pain.

"What the FUCK!!?" he swore, before trying, and failing, to get up. "The hell do you eat?! I weigh 250 pounds!"

"Uh, sorry? You shouldn't have grabbed me."

"I was trying to fucking help! You broke my arm, and some ribs!"

"There's healers, I think, back at the school. But I don't know where the school is..."

"Don't matter, I can't fucking leave this place anyway. Don't bother worrying about me, though. I heal faster than an ordinary person. But that won't matter if I can't do my job."

"What's your job?"

"I'm the Zookeeper. This is my zoo, and it is second to none!" the Zookeeper tried to gesture dramatically, and winced in pain. "But if I can't find a replacement soon, there's no telling what will happen to these poor animals."

You feel sorry for him, and guilty for breaking his arm. He must be more fragile than he looks, you tell yourself. Still, you can't help him, can you? You remember the wolf, and shuddered.

What does she do?
