Chapter 23 by Nemo of Utopia Nemo of Utopia

What do you wish to do next?

[Read The Other Pamphlets.] (Maybe there's more information on what a 'BANE' is...)

You start on the other pamphlets and get through three which I will now summarize for you...

1: [The Damned Arena: The Best Entertainment In The Multiverse!]

The Damned Arena is the city's main form of criminal punishment: those arrested by the Watches for violating the city's laws have their property confiscated to be used as prizes and are sentenced to fight a certain number of battles based on the severity of the crime. Those that survive their sentence become Citizens of Mendet Muskawoun and are given a Basic Living Stipend, then sent on their way, those that do not...
There also are professional Gladiators and 'Hell-Lots' slaves sent to fight for prizes in the arena by their owners. The Last battle any sentenced person takes part in is always against one or more professional Gladiators and/or Hell-Lots.

Currently, the arena is scheduling a major exhibition match of several of the top Gladiators and Hell-Lots against a number of visiting Gods and Goddesses from different pantheons who were arrested for various crimes. The Prizes being offered include Several Soul Form Components, a Soul Form Base, and Assorted items of Gear they were carrying...

2: [Navigating Mendet Muskawoun. (Map of Major Streets Inside!)]

This pamphlet is a fairly elaborate one, which folds out to be the size of a state roadmap like you would find at a rest area. The City apparently laid out like so:

With hundreds of less well-defined alleyways and side streets. The map does not show these alleys and side streets but it does mention that many businesses, residential buildings, and places of work occupy them. Moving from top left to bottom right and starting with the Diagonals, then horizontal streets, then vertical streets we have the following major thoroughfares:

Emperor's Highway (Top Left to Bottom Right.)
Queen's Boulevard (Middle Left to Middle Top)
Citizen's Way (Middle Top to Middle Right)
Wild Street (Middle Left to Middle Bottom)
Imperatrix Turnpike (Bottom Left to Top Right)
Cheap Street (Middle Bottom to Middle Right)
Coldest Road (Along the Top)
Our-Father-Below Boulevard (Between Middle and Top)
Mayor's Street. (Middle Horizontal Street.)
Executioner's Way (Between Middle and Bottom.)
Flint Turnpike (Along the Bottom)
Damnation Turnpike (Along the Left)
Ghost's Street (Between Middle and Left)
Broadway (Middle Vertical.)
Knockturn Boulevard (Between Middle and Right)
Boardwalk (Along the Right)

You and Andraste are apparently standing on the edge of "Turnpike Circle"... You commit the names and locations to memory and move on to the next pamphlet.

3: [The Coffee Market: Buying Slaves for Fun and Prophets.]

This pamphlet describes the city's main **** market. Taking place inside a building known as the 'Stone Barn' at the center of "Boar Pike Circle" (Shown in red on the street map below:

Here you can buy slaves singly or in groups in a silent auction environment but beware: You must be able to back any bid you make in cash immediately, upon winning any lot, or YOU become an item up for bid.

The pamphlet goes on with a number of short testimonials from various gods who have gained worshipers, divine servants, or even religious leaders from the auction house...

However, before you can finish it, a man dressed in ragged clothing and with a cold look of desperation accosts you...

"Hey Mister, you look like you've got Klaives: spare a few for a lost fellow God who wandered down the wrong street and can't afford the tole to get back to his apartment?" The Man, who has red skin, three eyes, and a lot of muscle asks...

What do you do?
