It's time to explain

John took a moment to put order to his thoughts. "Ashthyn." He calmly started the conversation anew. "Refresh my memory. Just a few minutes ago, you have told me in great detail about how the females of your folk are the stronger gender. You also added how you have to do trials for them. Is that correct?"

"Y-yes, why are you asking?" Ashthyn still was avoiding his gaze, making it obvious that he was feeling either ashamed or guilty right now. Maybe a mixture of both.

"And, again, just for my memory, you were quite expressive about how only the males of your folk get to take these trials, yes?" Again, Ashthyn nodded. "Then Ashthyn, can you tell me how it comes that my friend Henrietta here believes you to be a female then?" Finally a different reaction.

Ashthyn's eyes went wide and he practically stared at Henrietta. "I am sorry, miss, please. I am honoured by your praise, but I am a mere male who hasn't even completed his first trial yet."

"You are a male who has a vagina between his legs?" Henrietta asked doubtfully, which resulted in Ashthyn avoiding both of their gazes again. "Explain yourself, Elf!" She demanded.

"I... was merely trying to follow the norm. Take the biological form of the highest ranked being around me. So as you showed up, I changed to fix myself." This prompted both of the humans to be stunned. Henrietta was the first to find her ability to speak again.

"Did I understand that right? You changed your biological form? You turn from a guy to a girl?" But before he, or rather now she could even answer, John butted in with a question he considered more important.

"What did you mean by highest ranked being around. Do you want to tell me, you consider Henrietta has a higher rank than me, and therefore you take her gender?" Which resulted in an amused look by the apparently higher ranked girl.

"No, sir, please, I did not change my gender. I only changed my body to have the biological form that she also has. So yes, I did do that, miss." Was Ashthyns short but serious reply.

"Okay, Ashthyn... amuse me again and refresh my memory. What exactly are the defining traits of a female?" After all, if an elf could simply grow a pussy or a dick at will, then what was it that made this one male.

"The ears of course. Male's earlobes are soft and wobbling around, whereas a females earlobe is firm and doesn't move much." He answered instantly as if that was the most normal thing there was on earth.

"Honestly, given that he came out of a chaos dimension, I don't know why I am even surprised." Was all Henrietta had to say about this.

"Oh, and of course only females can bear children, no matter which form they are in." This prompted another thought of John.

"Wait. No matter the form? So they can bear children, when they are guys, too? How do they..." But he was once again cut off.

"STOP!" Henrietta shouted at him. "If you are so interested in that, ask him when you are alone again, but I do not want to get information that would result in my inability to ever look at an elf and consider them pure again. Anyway, John, forgive my earlier behaviour. I have been treating you unfairly. I will make it up to you by training you some more, as well as introducing you to a person you should be greatly interested in meeting." This sounded promising.

"Okay, where and when do you propose we do that?" And with those words spoken, the illusion barrier around them burst away, revealing the real world again. They reached the place Henrietta guided them at. And it clearly was not Johns home.
