Contemplation

Brandon slept at the very edge of the bed, as far away from Maddie as he could. For the longest time Brandon had tried to foster a closer relationship between Zack and Taylor to try and convince himself that we had with Maddie was not weird or wrong. No matter how hard he tried to convince himself though, he knew that seeing his sister in such a light was wrong, but he couldn’t help it. They had grown up showing their bodies to each other, practicing flirting, and pretending to go on dates to practice for the real thing.

It had been a couple of years ago that Maddie’s attitude had turned sour on him, he put it up to puberty, but she acted the same to her friends at school, but it was when she came home from school that she really changed around him. She had become much more overtly sexual around him, and her flirting had become more predatory. This whole shift of attitudes occurred the time around he first started dating Ashley. She had told him a while ago, that she was seeing a guy at school, who apparently he knew. She described him as a total geek, but talked about him affectionately, which was odd seeing how she made fun of most people she thought of as geeks. This simply meant that Maddie’s behavior wasn’t as a result of jealousy, Brandon mused. Why the shift then? She couldn’t love him, she knew better then to take things that far he scoffed as sleep overtook him.
