Chapter 10 by alpha-xeta alpha-xeta

What does Xaurian do?

Xaurian is banished.

The sated succubus smiled and slithered to the door of library, only to be greeted by a hooded man. She stopped and stared at him quizzically.

"Such a fool, I thought Aaralon was stronger than that," he smiled through the thick cloth.

"You observed and did not stop me?" her guard dropped slightly.

"Aaralon was not worth saving," he took a step forward.

The brown mass slowly approached the succubus, yet she remained still. Finally the man's hands became visible and he lowered his hood.

She was greeted with a earthen brown man. Scars ran rampant over his face and in the place of his left eye laid a golden sphere. His once covered hands were now totally visible. He was carrying two sashes, one white, and one black.

"Your eyes--Xaurian--I can see Aaralon in them. It was a mistake to consume his soul, you are now wretched. Weak. Pathetic," the man's smile broadened.

"Get--back!" she stammered, grabbing a lit candle from the shelf beside her.

The monk took his fingers and made a cross on his forehead and hands.

The monk laughed at her, "You will be removed from this world. May the grace of the lord bid you farewell,"

The succubus charged at the unarmed monk and succeeded. She rammed into him, her head swung at his and a clash of holy fire enveloped them. The immaculate man boxed her ears and held her face in place.

"Such a fool!" he yelled.

The holy fire concentrated at his anointed forehead and seared the demon's flesh. She writhed and flailed. Her strength beaten, the monk released his hold and kicked her in the shin fiercely. She cried and fell over.

"While you are stupid, I can not let such a powerful foe simply leave. It would be such a waste,"

The monk grabbed the demon by the neck and brought her defying face to his. He smirked at her and placed his free hand over her eyes.

"Nefarious filth, begone!" he bellowed, the black man's echo reverberated through the spacious hall. The mark of the cross on his hand engulfed the demon's consciousness, leaving her in a state similar to Aaralon. He dropped her with a thud.

The monk's smirk faded and he looked at his hand. a faint blue aura emanated from the center. The demon's soul was now displaced from her body.

The monk rubbed his palm ceremoniously on the black sash until the band held the unholy soul entirely. The white sash was woven carefully around the black sash until it covered it completely. The earthen man took the strands and crushed them between his flattened hands. He prayed. He graciously diverged the sashes.

Walking ominously across the stone floored library, the monk lifted Aaralon's still ticking body and propped it against his kneeled form. Still wordlessly, the monk wrapped Aaralon's eyes with the white sash. Finally, he walked back to the succubus's corpse and threw it over his shoulder. The black sash was found in pieces were her body fell.

Aaralon awoke many hours later, totally rejuvenated.

"Wha-what the?" Aaralon managed to speak, his voice was sore.

Voices rang in his head, "You have been given a second chance. Like the phoenix you are reborn. You will not get a third chance mortal,"

Aaralon took his leather bound black book and placed it in a vacant shelf in the library.

Aaralon stumbled in a 6 in the morning, exhausted. His dorm mate greeted him with a breakfast on the table.

The young mage laughed and laid a useless portion of food on a plate for Aaralon, "Hey were you Aaralon? Out partying with the girls?"

"I was thinking,"

Herald laughed again and giggled, "Hm you don't do much of that now do ya?"

"Har-har real funny,"

"Well it's funny because a girl came here last night looking for you,"

"Say what?!" Aaralon's previous existentialist thoughts vaporized in a puff of smoke.

"I know! I'm surprised the day of judgment is not upon us!" Herald laughed again, visible chunks of egg began to fly across the table.

"Well did she say anything? What's her name!?" Aaralon was about to **** the meaty apprentice.

"Gloria? No... Cheryl? Hmm... Beatrice? No... hmm sorry I can't remember her name... I was having this great sand-which and I wanted to--"

"Did she leave her dorm room!?" Aaralon was now visibly **** him.

Coughing and **** on pieces of egg, Herald handed Aaralon a small note written in girly scribbles.

"607A?" Aaralon read aloud.

"I didn't know there were dorms in the sixth floor,"

"Me either. Say, you gonna eat any of that?"

Aaralon shook his head and the monster lifted the plate, sliding down his throat. Aaralon put his cloth shoes back on.

"You're going to see her now?! The sun isn't even up yet! Classes are in an hour!" the tub of lard called.

Aaralon stopped in his tracks.

"Hmm... a potentially hot girl? Or school?" Aaralon laughed at the obvious and unchallenging question.

Walking up four flights of stairs and through many long and dusty stone halls, Aaralon came to his destination. The white wooden door was wide open and Aaralon peered in, a small claustrophobic hall met him with several branching rooms.

He called in, "Hello? Uhh.. girl who lives in 607A? This is Aaralon... you left me a note last night and I was gone..?"

"Oh sorry Aaralon I'm in the shower! Just wait in the living room!" a female voice returned.

Aaralon found a seat on a regal wooden chair. Her place smelled of expensive perfumes. Everything was impossibly clean, he had a hard time thinking of any place as clean as this girl's dorm.

He heard the shower still running from a room a distance away and stared at the cold stone wall. Recently suppressed temptations arose and wrangled Aaralon's thoughts.

Does Aaralon dare step into the girl's private space? Who is the girl?
