Remi in the Port Wing.

As 'proper nautical terminology' dictated, according to the Captain, Safiya's section of the ship was called the 'Port Wing.' Basically, it was the left side of the ship, but none of the staff would be caught dead referring to it like that around Captain Mac, who would bitch out any person around him that used the wrong 'nautical terms.' The proper nautical terms had nothing to do with the fact that Safiya didn't do her job, though, which meant that they were largely irrelevant to Remi's incredibly frustrating existence.

She rapped on the first door, already breathing heavily. "Laundry service!" she called into the room, praying that no one was in. There was no 'do not disturb' sign on the door, which meant that if they might be out. If that was the case, then Remi could just move on to the next room. She waited a few seconds, and as no one answered, pushed the laundry bin further down the hallway. She repeated her quick knock and waited for a response. Again, there was none, and the maid prayed to God that the whole Port Wing of the Excelsior might be like this to spare her too much stress from dealing with Safiya's shit. That never seemed to be the case, though.

Remi glanced down the hallway. There were a few doors with 'do not disturb' signs on them, which perfectly suited her. Do not disturb meant no visits from the laundry service and no housekeeping once she had finished collecting the laundry-- greatly reducing the time the hallway would take to clean, even if only one room had the sign hanging from the door knob.

Remi peered into the empty laundry basket, sighed, and pushed it down the hallway again.
