Teleportation

Sidney touches the stone on the teleportation ring and the moment she activates it, you teleport out of the chair to behind the general.

"What?" both of them say in unison. They turn around to see you standing by the door and you can hear soldiers rushing towards the room outside already, so you activate another one of your rings and stop time.

With everyone frozen in place, you exit the room where, as you had expected, a dozen heavily armed soldiers are about to storm in. Quickly, you empty the magazines of all of their guns on the floor except for one, a relatively easy to carry handgun. Making sure it's loaded, you go back into the room and sit back down in the chair, pointing the gun at the general before you restart time.

All at once, the soldiers flood into the room and everyone stares at you and the gun in your hand, stunned and not knowing what to say.

"Put your guns down boys. They're not loaded," you declare. The soldiers check their weapons to confirm it and the general orders them to stand down.

"How did you do that? It's the rings, isn't it? Some kind of magic rings?" the general asks.

"I wouldn't worry about it. I'm in control now, that all you need to know," you respond.

The older gentleman laughs, seemingly unconcerned about the gun pointed at him. "You really think so? Do you even know where this is or how many people are aware of this? It's not just the people in this room that know about you. See those cameras? They don't just go to the control room next door. The higher ups are watching."

"What do you want with me?"

"Well, at first we just wanted to know how you managed to slip into one of the most secure rooms in the world. Now, we want to know more about you abilities."

"So you can use me like a weapon?"

"So you can stop the bad guys. You'd be serving your country and saving lives. A hero."

"And if I don't?"

"If you don't, you could probably escape from here. There's nothing we can do about it, it seems. But the entire government will be after you. Do you want to live life on the run, even with your abilities?"

You take your eye off the general and look at everyone around the room, stopping at Sidney. She's overcome her initial surprise and now looks composed and ready to attack you if ordered.

"Will I be free?"

"If you agree to work with us, yes. Commander Teller will be your personal liaison and stay close to you, but apart from that, you'll be free to come and go as you like, which it seems like we can't stop you."

His proposal is actually good for you since that what you'd set out to accomplish when you snuck into the NSA earlier, but you're still pissed about being dragged out of the mansion naked and thrown into a van.

"Who would I report to?" you ask.

"Me."

"And who do you report to?"

"The President."

"I want personal assurances from him, in writing. And a meeting in the Oval office. And I want full immunity."

General Talbot doesn't even have to think about it. "Done," he says.

"Right now."

"Okay," he checks his watch and nods. "We can go now, but you'll need to put on some clothes."

You grin and say you'll be right back. You teleport back to the mansion where Robin and Olivia are huddled together in the den and they both rush to embrace you when they see you. You explain what's going on while getting dressed and promise you'll be back soon, before teleporting back to the undisclosed location you were being held, dressed in your nicest suit.

"I almost thought you weren't coming back," the general says, "let's go meet the president."
