Aurelie climbs up the ladder

Aurelie clambered up the ladder, heading to the fresh air that came through the grating, reaching it in a matter of seconds. She tried to push it open with her shoulder but it resisted. It was locked! Or more probably there was a bolt outside that kept the hatch closed.
