Aurelie puts her costume on

Aurelie was admirative of all the details that had been put in the fitting of the cabin. She congratulated Captain Stone as her eyes moved from one detail to another, her sentences interspersed with exclamations of wonder and awe. Everything looked so authentic. Even the computer had been camouflaged in some time-worn wood case so that it did look too much out of place. Aurelie's eyes sparkled at its sight.

"I see you have a computer. Would I be presuming to much if I asked you for the permission to upload a blog post from time to time? And if I take pictures of the manoeuvres, of the crew and landscapes?" She clapped her hands excitedly. "This is so wonderful! This will be the best paper I have ever written. Captain Stone, your ship will be famous!"

Once alone in the cabin, she hastily removed her modern outfit, keeping only her plain skin-coloured-cotton thong and a sport bra of the same colour. She was in a hurry as she did not want to miss the manoeuvre. She pulled her costume out of her bag and laid it on the bed.

Now she was facing a choice. Would she wear her full pirate-queen costume? It would impress the other sailors and would hopefully discourage her from being too… promiscuous. Despite the Captain's advice, she would keep her sabre. It was not a real one but a replica whose blade was not sharpened. Captain Stone would certainly understand. The inconvenient was that it would be less suited to working the ship.

The alternative was to put only the shirt, the breeches and the shirt, going barefoot and hatless. That would be much more convenient for the manoeuvres but would put her at the same level as the sailors.
