At it's Mercy

The Incubus didn’t speak, somehow that made it much worse, it simply stood in front of the helpless Aaralon as he hung in the air. His limbs held out from his body in the vitruvian man pose. He was already over the white hot crest of panic and his mind had managed to attain the kind of serenity that is usually only experienced by those before a firing squad. His mind raced as he tried to recall everything he had read about Incubus’s, there had been very little in the books he had read on them. Since those books had been written by horny lonely men much like him who had had much more interest in Succubi. When they had been brought up it had only been as an excuse to write pornographic little stories that masqueraded as scholarly study. What he did know about them told him that they dominated, unlike the Succubi that would gently lure a victim in. These creatures would take a victim and make them their own, unlocking every secret dark desire that they had ever had and using it to fuel a fire that consumed them.

So it came as a horrible shock to him when the Incubus got down on to it’s knees in front of him.

“I want to give you a reward,” he said, his voice left no room for argument, leaving the listener with the conviction that what was said was the only truth in the world. “For being so helpful.”
