Jess

Hunter sipped his coffee and thought about what had just happened.

He and Jess had been married for over four years. She was a sweet, affectionate woman but not one he would ever have described as passionate. She didn't dislike sex, but it didn't seem to interest her much. She never initiated it, and while she never refused him, it never seemed like her heart was in it. To the best of his knowledge she had never had an orgasm.

And to be fair, he told himself, he'd never been a man with a huge sex drive. He liked it, but going without for periods of time was no hardship. When he did want it, Jess was always a willing if passive partner.

They had met in college, dating for months before he made any attempt to have sex with her. She accepted his advance, and somewhat to his surprise he discovered she was a virgin. The sex was unspectacular but he had grown fond of her kind and affectionate nature, not to mention an occasional quirky sense of humour, and they kept dating.

They married a few months after he finished his degree. He had quickly found a job with a major advertising agency, and with the help of their parents they had put together a down payment on the house. They lived comfortably, but carefully, staying within a budget that Jess administered with considerable skill. She had finished her degree in education but had struggled to find full time work as a teacher, and was only managing to get substitute teaching jobs a few days a week at most.

Her behaviour in kissing him passionately, in being the aggressor, was so totally out of character that Hunter found himself at a total loss to explain it.

Although, he told himself with a smile, looking down at his stiffening erection, he rather liked it.
