Kimberly’s proposition
“So you fucked my sister,” Kimberly says, her face and voice expressionless.
“Yes,” I admit. No point trying to deny it. It was clear the moment I walked in the door that she knew. I stop with the single word and wait to see what comes next. She looks at me, unmoving, for a long moment, then sighs.
“She told me,” Kimberly says. That surprises me a little, but she doesn’t seem to notice. “She gave me a letter to give you.” Kimberly pauses, thinking. I wait. “When she first told me, I was furious at both of you. I yelled at her. She yelled back. She told me she’s eighteen and I don’t have the right to control her sex life, and besides it was her money to do with as she pleased. She was right. She also told me that if I hadn’t made you any promises, I had no right to expect you to act as if you had, and that if you were going to be fucking other girls, she had the right to be one of them. She was right about that, too.”
Kimberly sighs again. “Then she told me that if I was mad that you’d fucked her, I damn well ought to take a long hard look at myself and figure out why. Or else I ought to listen to her, because she could tell me why I was mad: I want you all to myself but I’m not willing to admit it because of how badly the last guy I trusted fucked me over. She called me a fucking yellow coward and told me I owe you the truth, and that in her opinion, I ought to trust you.
“So,” Kimberly continues with another deep sigh, “this is me giving you the truth: my sister’s right. I do want you all to myself, and I am scared because the last guy fucked me over so badly, but I do know that you deserve my trust. To prove that—to both of us—I won’t ask you to give up your business; but are you willing to give up fucking your clients and save your cock for me?”
“Are you asking me to be your boyfriend?” I ask quietly.
Kimberly takes a deep breath and nods. “Yes, I am, Andrew. Will you be mine?”
