Chapter 36 by simmaster
Should you give in to your urges or wait?
Wait.
Your pack's morale is already low. If you want to avoid possibly losing your pack, or whatever happens when morale drops too much, you should probably avoid **** pack members. Therefore, you decide to treat Ilimia with some dignity for now.
"Welcome to the pack," you say kindly and pat her on the shoulder. She looks surprised but also suspicious about your sudden friendliness, but doesn't say anything.
"Come," you tell her and begin to head back to the camp. "And don't forget to pick up your armor."
When you don't hear her following, you look back to see that she's struggling with obeying your last command.
"I can't access my inventory!" she complains while trying and failing to store away her chestplate. Right, that's a side effect of being a werewolf. But as a higher werewolf, it's not a side effect that applies to you. You walk back to her and pick up her armor for her, stuffing it into your new werewolf inventory, and then you both go to the camp.
The two of you enter the camp once more, now abandoned and with a few rocks laying on the blood-stained ground beneath them. The corpses from the heroes are gone though, indicating that they've respawned already. To be safe you shouldn't linger for long, in case they decide to return for ****. If they did, you wouldn't have another trap to save you.
However, the bandits' corpses haven't vanished yet. You begin to loot them and order Ilimia to help you by bringing items from them to you. Then you go searching for some kind of crafting station.
You quickly find what you were looking for: A little shed with crafting equipment. A simple forge, an anvil, a workbench, and whatever else you might need. You take out Ilimia's gauntlet from your inventory and fiddle with the workbench, trying to figure out how crafting works. Eventually, a menu finally pops up.
Crude Thick Iron Gauntlet
+1 Armor
+4 HP
Reforge Option - Crude Thick Iron Gauntlet (Werewolf)
Reforge? (1 Iron bar)
Looks like her armor is within your skill level. However, you doubt it's worth reforging. It's an armor set for low-level heroes, and both you and Ilimia are way too high level for it. You remove the gauntlet and instead look through all the items you got from the bandits, trying them out with the workbench while Ilimia peeks over your shoulder with curiosity, but still keeps a safe distance from you. After a while you've narrowed your way down to the best option: A set of hide armor with bits of chainmail. You suspect that the bandit who wore it may have been the chief. It somehow looks savage and rugged yet kind of regal. It would certainly look good on you.
The problem is, it's beyond your skill level and can't be reforged.
What to do?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
