Chapter 33 by Funatic Funatic

What does he go for first?

Orichalcum-Ore

“We may have luck in this area so let’s go for the Orichalcum first.” Uklag says and closes the book. “Seems logical enough, how do you want to do it?” Aelana asks and sits down on the bed. “I will search the nearby caves. I should find the ore somewhere.” Uklag answers and turns to go. Then he stops and looks at his staff. “Oh yeah, I should probably leave that here.” He tells himself and puts the staff next to the pedestal. He makes a grimace “Feels weird, should make a new one.” A sigh, “Won’t be the same though.”

Catherine steps closer. “So who are you taking with you?” she asks, Uklag smiles. “Nobody. I will do this on my own.” The twins don’t look particularly worried about that announcement. “As long as you stay in the area, Master Uklag.” Analea says and joins her sister in the bed. “Also be back at least once every few days.” Aelana adds, her hands exploring her sisters curves.

“What are you my wives?” Uklag asks with a playful laugh. “Let’s break it to the rest over breakfast.” He says and leaves.

“When are you leaving, Boss?” Droy asks after Uklag has told the group everything. They had taken it surprisingly well, including the fact that he would summon and fight a Demon Lord. Chances are Celine had already told them. “Tomorrow, I will create a new staff and then be on my way. In my absence An and Al will rule this place.” Everyone nods, no surprises here. Afterwards they eat and next Uklag stands in front of one of his many workbenches.

This one has been cleaned recently, a small and very interestingly shaped burn mark remained on the surface however. “First of the material. What should I use?” Uklag mumbles. “Wood is light but can’t handle too much power, metals are heavy, and stone is just impractical as a whole.” He looks around the room to find something that will inspire him. He stops at a piece of black leather, an excess of Alratha’s uniform.

A grin spreads across his face. “It will be a hassle, no doubt but the effect it can have…” he nods to himself and gets to work.

“Master, I have to inform you that it has been a day already.” Zal says, when he brings him food. “Whatever.” Uklag says, his face deeply concentrated as he transmutes the rod for the….how often has he transmuted the blasted thing again? Magical Matrixes overlap as the structure changes again. “Almost perfect.” He mumbles and takes a short break to drink a glass of water and take a few bites of the food Zal has brought him.

He immediately gets back to work. “Two days now, Master.” Uklag hasn’t even heard Zal enter, he had napped for a few minutes to recover his strength. “Okay, okay. I’m almost done.” He says and gets up again. The round staff shines under the torches fires.

A last detail is added, the last matrix put into the cramped magical space of the item in front of him. “Day three, Master.” Uklag smiles at Zal’s voice. “Look at it, Zal.” Uklag says and raises his new staff. It fits into his hand perfectly. It is almost two metres in length and made completely from black glass and has white metallic ornaments all over it. A few pieces of the staff have been deformed to allow easier grasp but other than that it is completely smooth. At the top four arches leave a small space open before reuniting into a single very sharp blade on which the three eyes are engraved in the same white metal.

He slams the smooth end on the ground one time for effect. The resulting sound is so pure nobody would think about how sinister the creator is in his heart. A light flickers blue in the small space between the four arches. Uklag walks out of his enchantment quarter and is greeted by the whole crew. “We were ready to drag you out of there, according to Zal you haven’t eaten in two days.” Aelana scolds her Master. He hasn’t? Oh well. “I present to you my new staff.”

He holds it into the air. The reactions are satisfactory, “Who would have thought somebody as evil as you can make something so beautiful.” Droy mumbles. “You would think it’s less beautiful if you knew all the things it could do.” Uklag says, “It is enchanted a total of eight times, with pretty darn powerful effects if I might add.” Catherine looks stunned. “How is it not collapsing at this very second?”

Uklag smiles, “Because I have not enchanted the whole thing as one item. Even I am not that good…yet. No, you see all these lines and ornaments? They each hold up to two enchantments, the glass is only enchanted with Fortitude and the Blue Fire.” He chuckles a bit “Well, not that that isn’t dangerous on its own.” The small light suddenly becomes a small flame thrower. “For the rest, I will keep you in suspense.”

Now that the initial excitement settles down Uklag feels the hunger. “Now give me something to eat also I need a bath…Enchanting is hard work.”

After all of that?
