Wait.

You didn't want to make any decisions without knowing anything for certain.

"Let's wait until we hear back." You said.

"That might take a month, though." Emily reminded you.

"I know, but I'd rather that we're sure of what this is before we make any decisions. After all we don't want it to get worse." You said sternly.

Emily smiled and nodded her agreement.

The next few days were uneventful. Emily took a week off work to recover, and before you knew it, you were midway through October. Emily's mood hadn't changed too much, though the doctor said that it'd take a couple of weeks if any behaviour were to change.

It was on a Thursday night that Emily told you about an invitation to a Halloween party.

"Wendy is having her party on Saturday..." She said. You already received two invitations to Halloween parties and was hoping to use them to get out of going to Wendy's party... But you didn't want Emily to go there alone either. Your work Halloween party was Friday, and Emily already agreed to come to that.

The other was Nate's party. The date hadn't been determined nor had it been decided to even happen, though you knew it was a strong possibility.

"Alright... I guess we can go then." You said, reluctantly. You planned for Emily to get drunk enough at your work party to not want to go to Wendy's party.

"Great, I already told her we were coming." She smiled at you slyly.
