Clothes Lost in a Flash

"I accidentally...dropped everything on the stove..." Cassy explained.

"And...?" Kate asked, wondering if there is more.

"Well, they landed on the stove, and when I went to pick them up, I accidentally turned it on. Before I could react, our underwear was on fire! It spread to my skirt, your shorts, and even the jeans..." Cassy said, red-faced.

"So, what? You're telling us that we're stuck bottomless now?!" Lucy whined.

"Seems that way. On the bright side, with the storm, it isn't likely anyone is coming here." Kate said, trying to calm her down.

"Wait, Cassy. Did you take the clothes off the stove?" Lucy asked concernedly.

The diner has an automatic sprinkler system that activates when the smoke detector goes off. If Cassy had left the clothes on the stove, they are about to be soaked!
