Kill the beast!

This spiderfolk disgusts you. First she tries to capture both you and Tara. Then she tries to kill you while you defend yourself? No. She is the worst kind of beastfolk. The kind that prey on other living creatures and torment and kill others for fun. There is no mercy to be had for her. She would kill you in an instant and she will likely prey on travelers again. Others will be her victim and they may not be able to resist her onslaught.

She must have noticed the conclusion of the dilemma in your head, because her eyes widen in fear. She begs"No, no please..."

You tighten your grip on Harmony and swing at her neck with all your might. You have never killed anyone before and you squeeze your eyes shut at the last moment. You hear her gasp like she's about to scream, but she never manages it. The blade in your hand meets a brief resistance before that resistance disappears and you hear the creature's head hit the ground with a sickening thud. You step back before opening your eyes to briefly look at the limp corpse of the creature you had just slain before you quickly turn to Tara.

Moving up, you quickly cut her free with Harmony and she grabs you in a tight hug."Oh Donmal! I was so worried. I was sure we were doomed."

You're surprised at her hug as her warm elven body presses against you, but you quickly reciprocate. "Honestly, i wasn't too sure myself. It was fortunate that you gave me Harmony."

"Indeed" she gets up and adjusts her clothes, wiping away the remnants of the silken goo. "Let's go."

As you pass the body of the spiderfolk, Tara briefly examines it, "Did you have to kill her?"

You think for a moment, "I believed that if I had let her go, then she would have simply found another person to prey on."

"Yes, I suppose so..." She frowns at the corpse of your attacker before turning away from it and continuing onward. For a moment, you think you detect a hint of disappointment, but it quickly passes. Now that you are more aware of the dangers of the forest, you stick much more closely to Tara as the two of you make your way out of the forest.
