Chapter 49

What now?
In Miera's mind...
Miera didn't know how long she'd been meditating, exploring the void, trying to reach out to something, anything, that could break her corporeal form free. Meditation was generally a shamanic skill and not something she'd normally be capable of as a witch. Higher beings often bestowed a specialized version of it on their closest followers so they could make direct contact. Lord Logaros, however, was silent. Not a word or even a feeling had touched Miera's mind the entire time she'd been reaching inward. So she'd tried bending the link, using it to reach other spiritual beings as the Shamans did. Thus far she'd been utterly unsuccessful.
The gaping blackness was utterly still and terribly boring but she shuddered to think what awaited her back in the physical world. To think, she, Miera the God-Touched, would be captive of that... disgusting creature! Her connection faltered as a ripple of passion disrupted her concentration, the blackness briefly tinged red with desire. She gritted her teeth: healing withdrawal. She'd never felt it before but all players were warned against using healing items excessively, they caused a dependence that quickly lead to addiction. It wasn't a problem generally, healing items were usually quick and potent, few had the means to procure enough of them to feed an addiction.
But that overgrown weed had a healing ability that he'd... another red pulse clouded the darkness... used in the most vile... pulse... ways... pulse, pulse, pulse. Her concentration was scattered, even receded in the depths of her mind she could feel her nipples and clit hardening. Gods... she needed... she needed to be- NO. She slammed the walls of her psyche back up, blotting out the red desire with willpower and anger.
How far you have fallen, Miera. A quiet voice addressed her from behind. Spinning in the blackness, Miera nearly cried in relief at the sight of an enormous blue eye staring back from the void, "Lord Logaros! Thank you, Thank you! Please, help me! I am trapped in the physical plane by a horrid monster..!" The eye betrays no emotion, swirling blue energies twisting through its iris in arcane symbols long forgotten, 'A horrid monster' Do you hear yourself? Her smile falters, "what?"
You, who are my right hand on the mortal plane, First of the Eye of Knowledge, were subdued and are being detained by a garden pest the lowliest hero would step on? Miera stuttered, "No! NO! It's different! Grown entirely out of control, with an entire army of spiders to do its bidding..!" She carries on but the eye speaks over her, Rephrasing the facts will not grant you my sympathy. I see only truth and I see you to be a disgrace. Once, you were a productive agent of my will, I provided you with the benefit of the doubt. Yet within three days you were still calling to me for help. I am not your parent, I do not coddle, you have proven yourself unworthy of my mantle and now I take it from you. Something cold and hard shifted inside Miera, she clutched her chest as part of her very soul was rescinded, a bright blue spark torn from her body and sucked back into the swirling symbols of the great eye. Without a further word, the eye closed and the darkness was complete.
Miera stared after it, hand reaching for power that was never hers to begin with, mouth open in a soundless scream. She no longer possessed the ability Meditate and the darkness cracks open, bright red vines of pleasure reaching in to enfold her...
Meanwhile...
